Hex Room has persisted in the escape room scene for 8 years based on pure originality. No other room takes the risk in splitting up guests into 6 distinct environments and asking everyone to solve puzzles in unison - yet somehow it just WORKS. Definitely make sure you bring a team comfortable with a little bit of horror and that is willing to puzzle solo. If you can find the right team, hex room is something unique and special that you just don’t find everywhere, and the joy of escaping a horror movie together is truly worth the high entry bar. Kidnap your best group of 6 and bring them to LA to play this game!

It took my group and I 8+ years to finally do the Hex Room. After ages of hearing about how great it was, does the room live up to its hype and legendary status, given its age? Short answer: Yes. It. Does. What more can I say that hasn't been said already? The room is a perfect combination of creepy atmosphere, lovingly detailed set design, inventive puzzles, and thrilling story elements. Combine this with unique character driven gameplay, and you've got a game that can last a lifetime with strong replay value. Perfect for a group of 6, make sure to bring your strongest communicators. Team work is an absolute must. It also helps to bring friends who are willing to dive completely into their characters (dress up, roleplaying, the whole nine yards - what you put in is what you get, so may as well make the most it. Besides, who wouldn't want to live out as a tropey horror movie character?) As someone who has played many rooms across different generations since their inception, I am happy to report that Hex Room still lives up to its reputation and is one that can be enjoyed time and time again. So strap in, study up, and get ready - can you survive in a horror movie? Get your scream queen on and put your knowledge to the test against... The Hex Room!

Such an awesome concept to split the group up (based on personality) and have them start in different rooms! I’ve never done anything like it before. My family and I had the most hilarious time, even though the experience is like a real-life horror movie and quite creepy/immersive. Would highly recommend!

Amazing room! Came here based on a recommendation and it really lived up to the hype. My group escaped right at the last minute. I do like the replayability aspect of the room, and it's definitely a room to be replayed! Overall, it was a great homage to the horror movies I enjoy and played up those tropes perfectly down to the decor; there were really fun references to spot! I will say, while it isn't scary, the room will freak out people who get spooked easily. One of my group members asked to leave due to that, but the place- particularly GM Niko helped out.

This room is incredible! It takes an exact number of players because everyone is blindfolded and led into separate rooms at the beginning... and you have to work together to get out. Each player has their own "role" and their own challenges. And each player has their own box to solve. If everyone solves their boxes, AND the group gets out in time... then you survive! But only a small percentage of groups actually survive completely. We went in with 5 players, which is the minimum you'd want. I think they can put more than one player in each room, but if you're with an experienced group, you don't need more than 1. It was my friend's first game ever, and she did great! The rest of the family supported her through it... we're very experienced.

An escape room with a fun twist. I enjoyed getting into the roles. I don’t feel like the puzzles were particularly hard/none of them stood out but the environment was very cool. Having the right team balance is super important in this room. Think carefully about who you bring

We LOVED this room and did it twice (about 16 months in between). The first time we escaped but didn’t “survive” so we wanted to try it again. We switched roles and it was still really challenging. We also didn’t remember most of the actual puzzles and between that, changing rooms (and not helping one another), and bringing two different people with us, the whole thing was a blast the second time. Great story, amazing set design. Be aware one of the rooms has gore so luckily we made sure our guest who is sensitive wasn’t in that room. Great game masters both times. Love Cross Roads!
