In the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, a madman dubbed “The Zodiac Killer” terrorized the San Francisco area, leaving taunting notes and coded messages for investigators and the press. To this day, he remains unidentified. Now Connecticut is experiencing a string of disappearances; someone is leaving similarly coded messages and clues for baffled authorities. The media has named this person “Son of the Zodiac”. You have a prime suspect. Now that you know where he lives, you need to gather enough evidence to prove you deserve the reward. After bribing the landlord, she agrees to alert you when the suspect leaves and to unlock his apartment door. He only ever leaves for an hour....Can you find what you need in an hour or will you become his next victim?

Four of us played Son of Zodiac at Quandry Escape Room in Wallingford, CT, with Manny as our game host. Manny was friendly, helpful when we needed him, and did a great job without giving away too much. We actually didn’t need many clues throughout the room, which was a nice change! I really enjoyed the puzzles in Son of Zodiac. There were several fun and challenging puzzles, including one in particular that was unlike anything I’ve seen in an escape room before. It was creative and definitely stood out to me. My only real complaint was the ending. I didn’t think it was very clear what we were supposed to do, and it left us a little confused about how to finish the room. Overall, though, I had a great time with Son of Zodiac and really enjoyed the puzzles and challenges. This company has three locations (different names) throughout Connecticut, and we’ve now played at all three. I’ve enjoyed every room we’ve done. I really appreciate that their rooms are all different while still being exciting and entertaining. Definitely a company I’d recommend to other escape room fans!

This was a fun traditional game! Not a lot of bells and whistles but solid locks and numbers puzzles. If you’re relatively experienced it was no problem doing it with two people (with a couple of clues). The theming was really cool, and not too scary. I’d recommend if you’re in the area.

Ahhh, serial killers and their lairs. They together with escape rooms like bread and butter, or ham and eggs, or blood and guts... This is your standard escape the madman plot but it's done with a few nifty tricks up its gore soaked sleeves. The setting seems normal enough. Body parts and blood here and there - all very decorative and delightful. They make really good use of the building itself in creating hidey holes to store away puzzles and clues. The puzzles are very well done and had the two of us scrambling to escape in time. This was my top room we've done with the group (so far) and were very happuy with our time here. I recommend this room with two severed thumbs up.

While not the most tech-forward room we've ever done, this one was a lot of fun! Definitely recommend at least 3 players - you'll need some communication from opposite parts of the room to make this work. I love escape rooms, but I scare very easily so I avoid ones marked scary - and while this definitely has a creepy factor to it, it wasn't overly frightening. The last minute of the room as you finish the story is absolutely the best end of any room I've done so far!

Lots of very interesting puzzles, great use of set pieces. We played with 4 people and that seemed to be a perfect number so pairs of people could tackle different puzzles. Cool theme, great set.

  • We really liked the puzzle design as it used all the skills an investigator would in this situation.

  • A few of the puzzles were pretty damn brilliant.
