At The Hop Ice Cream Shoppe delivers a charming, nostalgic atmosphere with a set design that fully immerses you in a classic retro diner. A standout feature of the room is its fantastic soundtrack of classic jukebox hits. The music adds a lot of energy to the environment—so much so that I admittedly got a bit distracted treating the space as my own personal karaoke session and singing along while we played. However, the audio levels did present a slight hurdle for the coordinated team communication that is typically essential for a smooth mechanical flow. The music was loud, which made it difficult to clearly hear the Game Master. It would be ideal if the background music automatically lowered when hints were being given to avoid the frustration of having to ask for information to be repeated. Additionally, one specific prop that required listening for subsequent clues was also hard to decipher over the soundtrack, slowing our momentum. Despite the audio mixing issues, the room is thoroughly enjoyable, especially if you appreciate this kind of lighthearted, vintage theme. The space is filled with clever details, including some fun Easter eggs of names scattered along the way for observant players. It is a highly recommended, fun experience for anyone looking for a more musical and upbeat escape room.

I really loved this room! The theming is incredible and most of the puzzles flow really well. There were a few spots that tripped us up but made sense after we finally got them. This was my favorite of all the rooms I’ve played at this location (Camp Harvest Moon, Video Store, and 7th Room).

Fantastic room Just fun. Puzzles on theme, great flow, great music. For a small footprint of a room it packs plenty to do. We had the BEST GM with Danielle; but honestly the people here are some of the best running and hosting games. I cannot rave about the games and experience enough for this locations Would not suggest more than 3 adult sized humans for this room. The only downside is we only have one more room left Tidbits: Easy parking Lots to do in the area Amazing staff Comfy lobby

This was my favorite room at Dare 2 Escape. The set is incredible! You really feel like you’re at a retro ice cream parlor. Puzzles were great as always. It’s not scary at all, yet they still manage to weave in the Tilman lore.

This was absolutely amazing!! It was so well done and the theme and room were really well Thought out and planned!! It was linear and the puzzles were just the right amount of challenging without needing additional help. There was only one clue in the room that was a bit outside of our scope, but everything else was spot on!!!! The room had a good amount of puzzles and locks, tech puzzles and I can’t forget the absolutely fun music!!! We can’t sing the praises of this room enough!! Loved it!! 10/10 would recommend!!

A sweet puzzle fest is best served chilled! An absolutely adorable little room. Short and sweet. This is a room for puzzle lovers through and through. Great use of the smaller space, fun changes in temperature, and absolutely overflowing with content. Not the grandest game on our Orlando trip, but top notch puzzle flow.

Incredible room! Immaculate theming, fun puzzles, and great music. The best part of Dare2Escape is how they make great use of what is essentially a smaller room. Recommend for smaller, experienced groups because of the difficulty and space

Very cute theming. The puzzles weren’t as intuitive as I would have liked but overall I enjoyed the fun retro vibes and themes 10/10 :)

Very cool setup and vibe, but every clue and puzzle felt like a huge reach that was nearly impossible to come to the conclusion. The story line was cool, my only real complaint was how cold it was😭

While not one of my favorites and could probably use some fine tuning, this is a mostly good room that should be considered by enthusiasts only. Probably one of the more surprisingly difficult games we’ve played that really pushes your skills to their limits. Many leaps in logic and multiple confusing or obtuse puzzles that require suspension of disbelief and creative problem solving for unrealistic (and unreasonable) game logic. Starting off with the good: the production design and art direction is actually REALLY good and does a nice job of capturing a sense of time and place. It’s even cold inside (like an ice cream parlor would be) and in its freezer. Kind of crazy when you experience it for yourself. Plenty of details to absorb and see. Then the not so good: many puzzles requiring too much arduous reading and exposition. Lots of puzzle logic that are superficially difficult, time wasting hoops to jump through. There’s ALMOST too much to do, and one of the least favorite things you could ever include in escape rooms (and one I consider a cardinal sin): MATH. Oh my god how is this still a thing? Nobody should be including this anymore in an escape room. It’s so Gen 1 and needs to be retroactively removed entirely. This brings me back to my original point about fine tuning. A room like this could really benefit from an overhaul with its puzzles. Cut the fat, trim the extraneous and you’ve got a great, streamlined escape room ready for the modern era. It feels too stuck in high end Gen 1 puzzle design and it hurts the room greatly because it’s actually a pretty creative and good time otherwise. Even though it’s billed as a family friendly experience, I think families will leave this one frustrated and annoyed. This is not for newcomers. Experienced escape room players need only apply.
