The Soul Catcher

HELP, SHE’S GOT ME BY THE SOUL! A solid room from Cubic, Soul Catcher flowed pretty well, had some good scares and a very lovely set design. The highlight of this room was definitely the sequences with the live actor. They really heightened the narrative experience and helped tie in some confusions I had throughout the game. It’s in a pretty random location down an alley so make sure you’ve got your eyes peeled and a couple extra minutes spare to find it.

It was well done. Puzzles weren't too challenging but the atmosphere was really great. The most memorable thing would be the live actors performance.

We finished with the fastest time for a group of 3 so it’s good for beginners.

I think Soul Cather is Cubic’s best room where all the puzzle make sense and with the right mix of Scary and Thinking factor. I would highly recommended this room.

Very impressed with the newest room from Cubic. It had a great mix of dark and tense moments mixed with cool cinematic and tech effects. The live actor was quite involved and the puzzles were great and made sense. This is by far their greatest room and a must visit for everyone. P.S. We came within 30 seconds of the record but were unable to beat it because I had to go to the toilet midway through. 😭

Super impressed with this fun horror room that is in my opinion on the same level as the highly celebrated The Sacrifice at Mission Escape. Everything, from the theming and atmosphere to the sound design, lighting, and special effects, was all top notch. The puzzles were really well-designed too. And of course, the live actor added another dimension to the overall experience. Don't miss out on this one!

The background of this room is to investigate a mansion controlled by evil souls. The space is well built with an Asian aesthetic, featuring souls, live actors, and supernatural elements. This room goes by the ‘light shows the way’ rule, only areas with light are useful for puzzles. It’s rarely too dark to see, but sometimes you’ll need to revisit earlier rooms when the lights come back on. There’s quite a bit of reading involved, but important parts are highlighted if they relate to puzzles. My conclusion: this room exceeded my expectations (possibly one of the best I’ve ever done)! What impressed me most was the use of the lighting and sound systems, combined with live actors—it really felt like being part of a movie (or a theatre show). But that’s not all it offers. The room isn’t exactly scary, but it includes many supernatural elements that make the experience immersive. It’s not about jump scares, but more about subtle details that seem minor at first—until they hit you later and send a chill down your spine. I still remember when our team was split randomly, and a pre-set painting somehow accurately reflected what had just happened. That creepy moment stuck with me more than any scream. What also stood out is how this room constantly introduces new and creative elements. You’ll find unique surprises and ways to interact in each area—not just one or two highlights in the whole game, but one or two in every single room. This is a must-try room, and it's worth the money.

Wow, this room was awesome. We were a bit apprehensive about this room due to the pricier than normal pricetag but this room really blew my expectations out of the water. The set design is extremely pretty, definitely giving the feel of a shrine that has been haunted by spirits. The special effects are also extremely well made, leading our team to be increasingly unnerved. The scares are also executed perfectly with a blend of chases and watching actors perform whilst you are staying still. This is definitely a horror room in Sydney that is slept on and I 100% think the price is definitely worth it!
