Arcade: Black

A really unique, competitive experience originally set up in a team v team format allowing players to solve any of the 15/16 puzzles as fast as you can in any order. Although I didn't play against another team in the white room, I still had a great time solving the multitude of cool puzzles scattered throughout the space. The only downside was the maze puzzle which required upwards of 15-20 minutes to complete due to its insane difficulty and quickly became more of a burden than a fun challenge. Overall an interesting room, just needs a couple tweaks. 6.4/10 🔏🧩

Really fun idea. Just smash a bunch of different puzzles into a room and that's it. No theme. Just complete as many as you can in the time you have. We were having such a good time, but boy the staff were a let down. Have never felt like more of an inconvenience. We were thinking of doing a second room right after this one, but the staff couldn't have acted more put out by us, so we went elsewhere. The GM got us out of there as quickly, and as disinterestedly as possible. Which, hey, I totally understand, I've had a job before when I was a teenager, I know how much better work is when the customers aren't there; but being on the receiving end of it left a sour taste in the mouth of what otherwise was a fun experience.

An interesting setting as it’s more of a puzzle room than a traditional escape. A simple premise really, finish all 14 puzzles around you in under an hour. Played with my partner and we both enjoyed the ability to collaborate or divide and conquer. The design was cute with the black and white theming but nothing out of this world. Nothing much else to say about it really, solve puzzles = win game.

Lost Lock’s ‘Black’ and ‘White’ arcade puzzle rooms are a fun change of pace from your regular escape room fare. With no storyline whatsoever, the game shines in its singular focus on delivering a wide array of puzzles. The design casts a wide net across its 14 puzzles whilst touching on classic escape room puzzle tropes in a fun way. The head-to-head functionality between the two rooms would be wondrously stress-inducing — we didn’t play it, but if you are reading this and considering splitting your team in two to compete, this is the sign to do it. You won’t regret it!

Not a typical escape room. It was a room with puzzles to solve. Good to pass the time.

Enjoyed this puzzle room! If you’re doing a few in a day do this one first! Puzzles were fun and basic, would be great for young kids.

Definitely play this room with more than 2 people! So hard for 2 to run around! Such a different room though and we had fun!
