VIDEO GAMES ARE BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH! Man, Retro Revenge was such a creative experience from start to finish, the sheer amount of old-school tech and props scattered throughout the room was an absolute dream for a nerd like me. VHS tapes, gaming consoles, board games, TVs that probably weigh 100kg, there were so many nostalgia-fuelled set pieces that were all cleverly woven into the puzzles. I loved it. It’s no surprise then that the puzzles themselves were super fun and tactile, and for a relatively modest space, nothing was wasted in terms of set design. Everything had a purpose and was able to be interacted with at will. The only element I felt could’ve been more fleshed out was the story. Basically: serial killer, gonna kill you, real evil guy, has an evil lair, play his little game, 60-minutes, death, you get the idea. I felt a little bad as our live-actor was clearly a bit under the pump, having to run 3 other escape rooms simultaneously left them very little time to dress up and terrorise us. They were lovely though!! Overall an excellent room with so much going for it. Having now played all of the rooms at Eclipse, I can confidently say these are some of, if not the best rooms you’ll find in the GC ☀️ 8.4/10 🔏🧩
