I JUST WANT TO READ THE TOMES LEAVE ME ALONE!! Another spooky experience in the Eclipse backrooms, another certified banger gamers - hell yeah. This room perfectly encapsulates what I appreciate in a well crafted scary room; the theming and story helping the puzzles shine, rather than acting as a hinderance. The storyline is pretty classic with a spooky cabin vibe into a devilish seance, ever a joyous occasion. It's a credit then, that the puzzles in this room felt unique and entertaining even within a tried and true theme. If I'm being honest, it is rare that I find an experience is helped rather than hindered by its incorporation of live actors but I was pleasantly surprised with Blackwood Manor. The scare actors weren't just there for the screams but also managed to get some laughs, dance moves, and even tears. Special shoutout to Maya, Dee and Kerri for facilitating us through our spookfest. The beacon that is Eclipse Escape Rooms keeps on shining bright and I will keep singing it's praises.

THEYRECOMINGTHEYRECOMINGTHEYRECOMING. Blackwood Manor is one of those rooms that is enhanced greatly by its incorporation of live actors. A couple of hooded goons staunching you for 5-minute periods at a time was hilarious and terrifying. The puzzle content in the room itself was also really solid, a fun variation of props and evil looking doodads to play around with made for a significantly spooky time. A couple of twists and turns in design here and there kept this one really engaging even when the narrative got a little bit muddled. Due to the size of the space this one’s probably better suited to teams of 2-4 for a more breathable experience but overall a devilishly good time. 8/10 🔏🧩

Great atmosphere. You can increase difficulty and choose to have no lights for a heightened ambience. Great options there. Linear gameplay. Awesome puzzles and atmosphere.

Completed this room in about 36 mins with 4 people. It wasn’t too scary which we appreciated, just some supernatural spooky vibes. The puzzles flowed very well and all made sense, which made for a very smooth experience. It was very fun and we enjoyed all the puzzles. Would recommend!!

Another spacious and well decorated linear room at Eclipse. Storyline was clear and flowed well. Just spooky enough to create an eerie atmosphere without making us too scared (which we liked as we have low horror tolerance). I liked that we each were allowed our own torch to explore. Puzzles were fun and on theme but not as unique as some of the ones in their other rooms. Overall a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Enjoyed this room. Lots of puzzle but not too difficult. Had a live actor but I feel they got bored with our lack of reaction and left. 🤣

Incredible theming and puzzles that fits perfectly into the setting, really making you feel like you are in a haunted manor.

Slightly supply theme .did with no live actor.. great experience. Cool puzzles. Didn't feel like 2 people got stuck. Good volume of puzzles and mechanical effects are amazing. Good theme.

We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) completed the medium level with a few minutes to spare - we did get a few clues along the way. Great room with great storyline and puzzles. Game Master Sophie was amazing.

This company really cares about their escape rooms. My partner and I have done multiple escape rooms on multiple continents, and this was one of our best experiences. The rooms are quite large, and while that is something this company likes to highlight on their website, it isn't the best thing about their rooms. (Don't get me wrong, the size is nice, but there are even better aspects!) IMHO, the best parts were the puzzles themselves and our gamemaster, Maja. The puzzles we encountered were unique and directly aided the story in a believable way. These puzzles made us feel immersed in the rooms narrative rather than like we were merely opening locks. Our gamemaster, Maja, was outstanding. I am hearing impaired, and she took the extra time to repeat the opening set up for me and made sure she spoke into the microphone that led to my hearing aid, so i could hear her. She gave us clues that made sense but did not feel patronizing, and her excitement was infectious. We did a room late in the evening, and it was frankly impressive how much energy she had. You can tell that this isn't just a job for her; she genuinely loves escape rooms. If you are considering doing one of Eclipse Escape's escape rooms, I highly recommend you give them a try. Oh, and one more thing: The room we experienced was called Blackwood Manor, and while it was a horror themed room, the company has options to tailor the room to make sure it is only as scary as you want it to be. For example, live actors are optional, the lighting level can be either turned off, dim, or bright, and they check to make sure you are okay with certain elements that particularly sensitive people might find unsettling. Don't let trepidations get in the way of a wonderful evening; the people at Eclipse Escape have your back. In conclusion, both this company and Maja have earned my trust and my partner's trust, and we look forward to returning.
