Runaway Subway

I played this room when it was originally in St Louis. I do not have any information if any changes were made to it when it left so this memory is based on when I first played it. The set was the big draw for me. The subway car and station were superb in their design and I really loved the hydraulics they used to make the subway feel as if it were moving. The puzzles were not among my favorites. I found them to be somewhat confusing and taking up a lot of time without much payoff. Personally, I would be happy to never have to do a jigsaw puzzle in a room ever again. If you want to see what this room can be take a trip to Canada and visit the Escaparium in Laval.

I would like to think that I have a pretty good memory and can recall almost every escape room that I have ever done. Every now and then, one will come up where the only reason that I know that I have done it is that there is a picture and that it’s in my spreadsheet. This is one of those rooms. Fortunately, my wife did have some recollection on this room, so this review is hers. This company is closed by the way. This was a fun room with a subway that had moving floors to simulate motion. You played a member of a swat team there to defuse a bomb on the train. Of the rooms that were offered, this was one of the better games.

Above average production value couldn’t make up for the disappointing puzzles and plot. When I played it was vaguely TMNT themed, which was hardly mentioned and didn’t make much sense.
