321 escape rooms
Being a theatre nerd and an escape room junkie this hit on so many levels. Up until the end I was gleefully happy in my element, but then the last two puzzles hit and I was no longer a happy camper. Everything started out great. The set was like a legitimate black box theatre that I could have performed in back in my youth. They had the audience area, the stage, and even a backstage area complete with lightboard! The puzzles were all tied to different theatrical elements such as correctly setting the light board. I loved it! I was in my element. Then came the finale. We were down to the wire and then there it was - the dreaded combination lock!!! I haven't used one of these since high school and that was 30 something years ago. I didn't remember how to operate one and there was no explanation in the room. If we had been instructed prior to the start of the room we would have been fine. It sucked up a bunch of time and when the GM stepped in we were left with a minute on the clock. The final letter lock used the suspects nickname instead of their name. It was a minor quibble but there was no reason to think of it at the time and it cost us the game. Overall it was a fun room and I recommend the company but ask what kind of locks are in the room before you start.
