Movie Mayhem

Super fun and interactive! Very thematic! Lots of electronic triggers and only one physical lock, which is what we love. We've done a lot of rooms and this is up there with the best.

7.5/10 Movie Mayhem was such a unique experience! The theme and environment of the room really stood out for us. The puzzles were really thought out and connected well with the theming of the room. The further we advanced through the room, the better the room got. Codeword Escape utilize everything in the room extremely well and there was nothing that felt out of place! Movie Mayhem has definitely been one of our favorite rooms in Connecticut, so we would highly recommend if you are in the area.

A very entertaining room at a mom and pop style venue. The set was relatively simplistic and the theme wasn't anything extraordinary, but the game excelled in presenting strong and interesting puzzles. I really enjoyed the experience, but you won't be wowed by the set or special effects; play this one if you're in it for the puzzles.

Solid theming with fitting puzzles

It kind of amazes me how how underappreciated this room is. Does it have any mind-blowing elements? Maybe not, but I highly appreciated that this room completely avoided the sin of having puzzles that do not fit the theme. I'd even go so far as to say this may be one of the best rooms at matching the puzzles to theme in my 100+ games. The room invoked so much nostalgia of simpler times when going to the movies was an event. There were some really clever puzzles that utlised the scenery incredibly well. For how old this room is, it surprisingly doesn't feel dated at all. Everything is well maintained, and there are minimal locks and plenty of tech elements. At the surface, this rooms seems very simple, but there is a surprising amount of depth. All this room needs is the smell of buttery popcorn 🍿

Great puzzles and flow. Puzzles were a good mix, made sense, and were substantial enough to keep a group of 5 (with varying experience levels) busy for almost a full hour. As a game that opened in 2019, it still holds up. Tech-driven with only one physical lock. Set is more of a charming homemade feel rather than reality immersive (not a bad thing). Definitely worth a play.

We really enjoyed this game overall. The set design was very neat. For the space they had, they make it feel like a movie theater. We really loved some of the puzzles and we really didn’t like a few others. We wish that when a door or drawer opens there would be a sound or light on it. There were a few times we didn’t know we had triggered the opening of something. Overall, though, we had a fun time with this game and would like to see more movie theater themed rooms.

Arguably my favorite room. The set was awesome and the puzzles were creative and challenging!

The time and energy put into this room was insane! Puzzles were well thought out and very on theme. Not overwhelming in the slightest and flowed nicely with the story. Unique and challenging puzzles that you won’t get bored from. Truly positive experience.
