I was instantly grabbed when we first walked in, as it was set up like a Blockbuster or a Mr. Movies!! Totally unexpected. It really amped up my excitement to explore and solve the rest of the room. I'll admit, a knock-off 'Mission Impossible' theme isn't my first choice with a room's theme, but making it much more approachable/relateable to people allowed it to let players build some additional thrill to the experience.
The gameplay flowed super well, and everything made sense as far as puzzle solving and what you needed to do. Nothing too obvious, but nothing too crunchy, either.
The video rental as the first section was such a great chooce on the designer's part!! The lazors were an enticing puzzle to contend with also.
The staff at Lock and Key are fantasic. Very welcoming, friendly, and super helpful.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
A decoder ring, lazors, and video tapes: need I say more? :)
Save the world and whatnot :)
I'd say somewhere between easy and medium.
But there were lazors on a few occassions!!
Two to four would be perfect. Maybe six if you have small kids.
But they made us aware beforehand, and provided us with a replacement that didn't downgrade the gameplay at all.
Physically active
Somewhat
Some moving back and forth between sections further into the game.
Accessibility
Very open space for anyone using mobility aides. One color puzzle that I recall.
Located in Southdale Mall.
