Buried

Weirdly not the first time I've been buried alive in an escape room. Not a whole heap to say about this one. The communication between the coffins was fun for the most part and the puzzles were okay. Maybe not the best room I've played but I liked it as something different.

SIX FEET UNDER? DUDE THATS LIKE 30 TOES!! Buried is such an intriguing concept for a room, locked in a coffin for 95% of the experience with little room to move and even less light to guide you but sadly, it sounds a lot more high stakes and claustrophobic than it actually is. The reality of Buried is more like 2 people lying down in very large padded boxes with a handful of simple puzzles that encourage communication but don’t demand it. I didn’t necessarily find the experience to be disappointing as it’s always interesting to push the boundaries of how players can exist more immersive-ly in the space. But the content itself felt pretty thrown together with 5 simple codes entered into a keypad being all that separated us from the outside world. Maybe the existence of any kind of narrative would’ve given the designers more to work with but I don’t think that’s the draw for a lot of players. Oh well. A good room to experience something different but not one I’d be in a hurry to recommend. Padlock’d do a really cool collectible pin for this one though! 6.4/10 🔏🧩

Don't let the "buried alive" concept throw you off of this room. Yes, you are buried alive, but the coffins do not go underground (they are in a mausoleum), and they are spacious. The puzzles are unique because of the circumstances you are in and your reliance on your other partner who you cannot see and can only hear if they shout loud enough. The final clue felt arbitrary. We were lucky that we got it right, but luck definitely plays a role in the final clue. Overall, I would still recommend this room.

This room gets creative points for sure! There’s not really a story to go a long with this but it’s a theme that doesn’t really need one. Puzzles all make sense and was easy to move from one to another. This experience is marketed as difficult but if you have basic communication skills it’s pretty simple to get through. Overall an enjoyable experience

This was a fun experience, not dark, however claustrophobic. After about 30mins inside the makeshift coffin, I did begin to feel nauseous. This experience is not for the faint-hearted, but you can always bail out mid-escape. Worth giving a go at least once!

A two person room with a decent amount of challenge. The key to this room is clear and concise communication. I really enjoyed completing this room with my partner and seeing how the puzzles and clues worked between the coffins. We did have one significant malfunction that ate up a lot of our game time, but our GM, Zee was great and listening to our concerns after the game concluded. The puzzles were fun, not a huge amount of challenge for the majority. The biggest challenge was the shortened time frame and zero communication with the GM throughout. Had we been able to communicate with Zee, we would have been able to confirm our concerns about our malfunction puzzle. All in all, a really great date night or friend game that I would highly recommend!

Nice experience, it was quite a novel way to play and kind of fun to collaborate in the darkness! This room forces you to talk and you each have your own parts to play, which is neat. I did find it quite straightforward and not much of a challenge, unlike the 5/5 difficulty advertised. The most challenging parts were probably collaborating with the person next to you and manoeuvring around the small space to find things (from what I can recall, it has been a while). It also wasn't very scary, though you may find it scarier if you're claustrophobic.

Buried (only designed for 2 players) is a great use of a small space with a very unique concept. Make sure to bring your best communication and puzzle solving skills as this one could prove to be quite tricky. The staff at Padlock'd were friendly and accommodating and our game master Matt took good care of us.

Cool and unique concept for a room. Super fun for experienced escape roomers.
