The Nest is an intimate, live experience for two audience members at a time, combining elements of immersive theater, narrative video games, serialized podcasts, and escape rooms into a new way to experience a story. Equipped with a flashlight, search through personal effects, explore your surroundings, and listen to audio cassettes to piece together the dramatic narrative of Josie's life.

This isn't the kind of room where you "escape"... this is an interactive story with some puzzle elements. It's all about production design and set design... and acting. The story is told mostly through audio, though you also have to figure out a few challenges here and there to get to the whole story. Without giving too much away, by the time we were done, my whole family was in tears with how beautiful this experience is. By far one of our favorite "escape room" experiences ever. Completely immersive, very interactive, very beautiful.

Poignant and thought-provoking, The Nest is more immersive environment experience than puzzle-driven escape room, and I love that about it. It’s reminiscent of video game walking simulators like Gone Home, but with actual walking. In the room, you follow a guided path through corners of a woman named Josie’s apartment. You can see her treasured items, figments of her past, and you can also listen to narrated tapes of her personal story. It’s as much a trip through her memories as much as it is a tour of her hoarded apartment, and masterful use of lightning and set designs show more than tell. The immersion comes in a different way from traditional escape rooms. I didn’t just feel like I was somewhere else entirely; I also felt like I knew Josie personally. There are actually a few puzzles, but they’re never overbearing, and there is no time limit really. You are meant to soak in the story, which is deeply personal and emotional. Be prepared to feel, to cry, to think about your own life. This room affected me in big ways, and I’m glad I experienced it with my love.

This escape room is truly a masterpiece. Even From the start you can see how much thought was put into designing the room and coming up with the storyline. Me and my husband went in unprepared for such an emotional experience, and we came out both with tears. I think the whole walk through really puts you in a world of the women’s life, from the start to end, to experience each step of the journey. I really loved the part where in the end they asked you to write down a memory that is fading away, and also read what other people wrote. Reading through them really hit home. Cannot recommend this enough, I think whether or not you like escape room you should try this out. It’s not nothing you experienced before.

The Nest is not an escape room, but rather an interactive immersive theater piece - scratch that, not even theater, more interactive, immersive story telling. There are no actors, and there aren’t a whole lot of puzzles to solve. There’s no time pressure, but it won’t take too long anyway. Instead of a thrilling adventure, you leave thinking about your life and those around you, a profoundly different experience than an escape room, and even different than theater, because unlike immersive theater where you’re still ostensibly an observer, just inside the fourth wall, at The Nest, you are very much a part of the story. The fact that this story takes place in a storage unit, that is housed in an actual old storage facility, makes it that much more amazing. There is heart and soul to this experience, and one that all should do.

It's important to go in with the understanding that this is not an escape room (the company is very transparent about this fact). I'm in the minority as an enthusiast that prioritizes puzzles over set design and immersion, and despite this, I really enjoyed this experience. It was very touching and unique, and my husband and I are both glad that we did it. I would highly recommend that you take one special person to play with you. I don't think it's suitable for larger groups or teams that don't know each other well.

While this was not your typical escape room experience and was certainly more immersive storytelling, I deeply enjoyed the thought put into the story and the way it was presented. I highly recommend taking this was slow and listening to the entire story. I wouldn't recommend for the claustrophobic or for anyone scared of the darkk as it did have a rather eerie feeling throughout. But if you want to cry, I highly recommend this roo.!

Warning: if mysterious atmospheric music, pitch black lighting, not able to see around corners, and an old attic aesthetic with dolls and old things creeps you out… you may not want to do this one! We were terrified the whole time and rushed to get through it. It’s very impressively done though - more of a story telling immersion and less of an escape room.

Just wow. From the start you get sucked into this unique world and immersed in it. Please read the description of this room so you understand what you’re getting into. As many reviewers will point out, it’s not an escape room. While there are some escape room elements, there’s nothing here meant to stump you. It’s a story first and foremost, one that makes you part of it as you listen and explore. If that sounds interesting then I highly recommend this. While there may be some spooky elements, it’s not scary at all and the music really enhances the mood/emotions you feel throughout. It’s a very intimate experience and best for a small group of 1, 2 or 3 at most. My advice is to take you time and don’t rush through. Listen to everything. I believe we did all we needed to do to complete this experience in a modest pace. And we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the story they tried to tell.

Fun room with a few puzzles that has quite different mechanisms than I usually see. Puzzles were generally quite easy. The room was mostly story-driven and I wasn’t that into the story, but I appreciated the format.
