The puzzles were not that many, the readings are A LOT. Not a fan of the first few puzzles just time consuming but love the endings :D

In ancient times the legendary wizard Merlin defeated a great evil that threatened the world. Unfortunately, for us in modern times this ancient threat has returned. You and your team will need to prove yourselves worthy to learn the secrets of Merlin and prove you are the chosen ones to restore balance to our world. Can you pass the Trails of Merlin?

Incredible production value, unique tech-based puzzles, and engaging characters. Mostly serial puzzle flow makes this great for families and smaller groups. Our GM, Xenia, was polished and gave us the right amount of hints to get us through the room. Really cool to play such a well-executed and inventive room!

Enjoyed the room overall. The technology was at times finicky and some of the speakers were very quiet. Otherwise it was a fun room! Would recommend.

I believe there is an elevator to get to the second floor.
Itβs a little bit hidden on the second floor, depending on what app you use to navigate it might not take you to the correct part of the building.

Overall it was fun. We did this room with 4 people and that seemed like a good number. Puzzles overall were quite linear and there wasnβt any level of overlap or waiting to use any of the supplies. When something opened, thatβs the only thing we needed until the next task was unlocked.
Very linear - only one puzzle at a time and it was fairly clear when a door opened what that new item would be used for

Honestly this room was so amazing. Very high tech. Me and my mom love magic and mysteries so being able to do these was amazing. The room itself was so cool everything opens as it supposed to with words or the next clue. Merlin is so cool and his trials are easy. We did it with 2 people plus completed all the extra quest. So funny and fun. 10/10 recommend

Really enjoyed this one. We were able to do it with two adults and one kid age 12. We got some clues to escape. The rooms were really well done, with some genuinely creative puzzles. The storyline is interesting and engaging and the ending was pretty creative. We did the rabbit hole one here and felt this one was far and away the better room.

Having tried a bunch of Trapped rooms and liking them all, I signed my family of for Trials of Merlin due to all the positive reviews. First off, in terms of set design and tech, this one is fantastic. Great theming, some fun use of technology and overall a very decent linear experience. In addition, as always with Trapped, the GM was fantastic (Sam was our GM). The last room also had one of the best story highlights I've experience so far in an escape room, and was a subject of fun for our family afterwards! Ultimately though, there's a few things that keep me from recommending this room. One of the puzzles in the first room involved looking at some visual clues to see whether you succeeded or failed, but was actually very spotty on implementation. We were trying different combinations and some seemed to trigger the bad state correctly, but other times, nothing happened. Eventually our GM had to nudge us past what felt like a broken puzzle. The other thing I didn't like is that this room felt more like a series of tasks as opposed to puzzles. Again, very thematic and well implemented, but didn't make me feel like I accomplished anything. Ultimately because of those two things I cannot recommend it, and would even point someone towards their older and less techy Down the Rabbit Hole as a better alternative. If they fix that first puzzle I would put it back into the recommend category, as it is a very thematic and cool room.
