Crypt Of The Vampire

What a fun romp to celebrate Halloween season. The game itself was really fun. Very spooky atmosphere but nothing too scary. This is a good room for those whole like their immersion with some thrills and chills but nothing to be frightened by outside the timer. The story; very thoughtful with some really smart choices for puzzle mapping. I'll share no more here to avoid spoilers but let's just say some very thoughtful storytelling and puzzle mapping are used to make for a fun escape room experience. The puzzles themselves are intuitive, flow with the story and have a good logic. This helped to keep us in the story from minute one through minute 45 (we finished with 15 minutes to spare). This is a fair room and plays a smidge easier than their other rooms - less layered puzzles. This is more straight forward in task and challenge. This is probably best for 3-4 people; 4 if you have some new people you are playing with or the younger crowd. I found this to be the most enjoyable room at this location but would recommend all four here for a fun day. Tidbits: Parking can be a challenge so I'd suggest parking in the Publix parking lot which is right next door Plenty for food and drink options; great one across the street with The Friendly Confines (a Chicago themed spot). Crypt was a very middle of the ground room. The puzzles were solid, and a few were even quite creative, and the tech worked exactly as you expected it to. The decor was fine, a little basic but well done enough that I couldn’t complain. There wasn’t anything I would say was wrong, but it lacked a big moment or storyline to really draw us in beyond the puzzles. I think this would be a great room for those just starting out, and it does scratch the itch for an enthusiast, but no need to go out of your way for it.

Okay room with minimal locks/keys. It was mostly tech. I personally felt like there wasn’t a whole lot to do in the room in general, and especially so because it was nonlinear. Compound that with the fact that you have to use a journal that is provided to you to solve most of the puzzles, and you can begin to see how the room is not meant for many people. I would go as far as to say you could easily do this solo except for one puzzle requires 2 people. It’s still a fun room but any more than two people and one person will be pretty bored.

This is not a very good experience. While the first room is good and how you are guided through the beginning 20 minutes is very creative, after this point it is pretty terrible. How it is set up to give you clues after this point is awful. Only 1 person can really figure anything out, I completely lost interest. The clue system also makes no sense and doesn’t go together. This is one of the worst rooms I have ever done.

Very detailed room and loved the “hint system” in The first room! Super unique.

Gotta be honest here, room was not hard at all, but the puzzles just didn’t flow well for me in my opinion. I understand why some people didn’t quite like it and I’m on definitely on that train.

Really cool set design. Loved the vampire theme! A spooky theme but not scary

Enjoyed this room for the most part. Thought the puzzle flow was a little off at times and that there could have been a few more puzzles.

I now understand why someone had recommended embracing the cheesiness of the room. Our group naturally embraced the room’s cheesiness, & enjoyed ourselves.
