This feels like what escape rooms are supposed to be. Artists creating art and inviting you into it. The owners here are clearly escape room lovers. You won’t find broken props or careless game masters. No spoilers but some excellent surprises here and we loved it!!

An escape room in someone’s real-life basement has no business being this mindblowingly amazing! Seriously, we pulled up into someone’s actual house, and experienced an adventure more immersive than countless other professional commercial establishments. It’s totally legit! The room itself is both a love story and a love letter to Edgar Allen Poe and his popular story The Raven. References are peppered throughout, so those familiar with his works will appreciate everything. The puzzles are honestly some of the best tightly-packed, well-clued, brain-stimulating challenges I’ve ever seen so meticulously presented from start to finish. This room, much like Poe’s stories, is a work of art, with high tech marvels and an unexpected guest who literally brings the room to life. The effects, lighting, and cinematic moments set the spooky mood masterfully, and they are entirely up my alley for the blueprints to an excellent escape room. Tom and Nicole are lovely owners, and this escape room in their basement might just be the most idealized perfect room that I could ever have the privilege of playing. This last-second addition to our big Carolinas escape trip has easily risen to my top favorite rooms. And I will not forget this amazing experience, nevermore.

My husband and I love doing escape rooms and I am soooo glad we gave this a try. The owners put so much care into these rooms. We did both Ripper and Nevermore and both were great. The details, puzzles, and creativity blew me away. I loved the involvement of actors and both rooms were super immersive. I’d recommend giving both a try since they are so different but equally fun. Wish I could give this more than 5 stars.

OMG and WOW! My wife and I have done over 100 escape rooms all around the country and Nocturne is now one of the tops we have done. We drove about 3 hours to get there and it was more than worth the trip. Tom and Nicole have figured out the Secret formula to escape room success: great people + great themes/decor + great stories + great puzzles = GREAT TIME! No stress of a clock really allows you to just enjoy the adventure of Nevermore. No super high-tech stuff going on in either room. Just amazing decor, awesome sounds/music and atmosphere plus a few spots of live acting to really add to the mood of Nevermore. Puzzles made sense, were fun and fit the theme of the room. If you get the chance you must visit Nocturne.

We chose the R-rated and scary version. If was definitely both but glad we chose that version.

This Poe inspired room absolutely hits the mark. From the set design to the puzzles this room maintains the immersion all the way through. The room focuses more on the experience and the vibe of the room rather than having super difficult puzzles but the room itself makes you want to slow down and just exist in the atmosphere.
Game play was fun and super fluid. It made for an all around wonderful experience.
The owners know how to design an experience. The set design and props make the experience cohesive and entirely immersive.
The owners were so wonderful. We were traveling from a ways away and they went out of their way to take care of us. They even opened their second room so that we could have the full Nocturne Adventures experience.

I'd say 2-4 is ideal. The room isn't huge or overly complex.

Amazing. Top 10 out of nearly 300 games.
Small venue at their house but you would never know once you walk in.

A wonderful immersion experience. The moment you walked in it felt like you were transported to the dark and stormy world of Edgar Alan Poe. The puzzles did a great job of incorporating props so you interacted with everything in the room but filled with details so that with keen observation you could find where they linked to other items in the room. I got so fully involved in the world they created that when we solved the last puzzle I was little sad to go back to the real world. My crew amd I had a great time and are looking forward to going back and trying put the Ripper when our schedule allows!
