My wife and I will play escape rooms as a 2 person team and typically escape (76/80 to date). I only mention this because we did not escape this room but still had a blast, and we would recommend it to anyone, but you should be warned that there are a lot of puzzles to complete and it is fairly challenging to complete with a small team. The GM was very kind and let us finish. We escaped with an extra 5 minutes, so we were close but more than 1 puzzle from the finish.
Amazing. Puzzles all make sense but for one small gripe. Very logical, yet challenging puzzles. We had a live actor that added some fun to the room. I spent some time trying to scare the live actor which did not help our team's cause lol. This room is great though. Puzzles are challenging and numerous.
Very strong. Some will find it scary. We thought it was unique and fun.
We got to know the staff since we did all 5 rooms in one day. They warned us ahead of time that it would be challenging with a team of 2, which was appreciated.

One of my all time favorite rooms. Challenging and original puzzles
Scary
84 escape rooms
This was a very fun room, but it was also lock heavy. It nailed the creepy atmosphere, though we did not have the live actor in it.

We chose to do this room without the live actor and it was still an engaging and challenging room. It is very look heavy and minimal tech but some interesting puzzles. If you are hesitating on this room because of the scare factor, I definitely recommend signing up and emailing ahead that you’d like no live actor. There is still some spookiness to the room without but it’s not scary.

You can request to do without “madman” live actor and it’s still a fun room!

Definitely not our favorite room at Maine Escape, but a solid room nonetheless. It isn't as polished or novel as their other games - Alien Invasion, Uncle Ned's Cabine, Dr. Gem's Time Trap - but still a worthwhile way to spend an hour. It's very light on the horror/jumpscares, but it has enough theming to still be a little unsettling. As with all Maine Escape Games, the puzzles are just the right amount of challenging, the flow is well thought out, and it's a room that's obvviously built with love and care.
Gameplay is solid. There's a variety of puzzles that will keep the entire group engaged for the full hour. There are some really novel tactile puzzles and some very satisfying solves.
Lacks a bit of the polish of other Maine Escape Game rooms, but still quality nonetheless.

There are some specific aspects of this room that may make it more challenging than other rooms for those who might be mobility impaired.

The atmosphere of this one is super spooky and the puzzle order is very satisfying. Lock puzzle heavy but there are a few other surprises in solving. Excellent use of darkness.
This is their hardest room and we were with two players brand new to escape rooms. We did need a time extension, but with our regular crew we would have finished it in the 60 minutes.
Super creepy but in a psychological way. A good amount of creepy but without being traumatizing.
Always always treated so well at Maine Escape Games. These guys are the best!

Fewer hints than the other rooms. Hints were “in character”
Spooky with just the right amount of adrenaline generation
Medium
We live out escape rooms so we found this to be medium but definitely hard for people new to escaping.

Nothing jumping out at you, but plenty of creepy stuff with potential for jump scares
12 depending on how brave they are. We did it with one 15 and two 16 year olds. They were creeped out to just the right amount.
