Critical Countdown

The Cold War is back with a vengeance and I couldn't be happier. The game is played in a top secret bunker and you and your team must once again save the world! Great story to start but the periodic taunting from your enemy just heightened the experience! The set, once again, blew us away. Simple, at first glance, opened up into amazing. Visually satisfying it instantly brought us back to all of those spy movies of my youth. The puzzles were satisfying and had a nice feel and flow. There is plenty to do for a small group and isn't linear so a larger group won't be standing around. I recommend this room as well as the company as a whole.

The staff was really nice, it’s clear the person who ran this place really cared about it and wanted people to have a good time. That being said, the room was just a little boring. There wasn’t a lot going on. The room didn’t really flow. Each puzzle was separate from another. When we asked for clues, the puzzle master just gave us exactly how to do the puzzle, and we wanted to figure it out on our own. It was also automated clues, we would be halfway through a puzzle but just a little stuck, ask for a hint, and receive a “clue” detailing steps we had already taken to get to where we were and exactly what we needed to do to finish the puzzle. I just wanted more of a hint instead of a step by step guide. Overall, this place seemed to have some cool puzzles besides this, but this one I wouldn’t recommend. It was also expensive, which is relatively normal, but $50 per person for a room that was unsatisfactory stunk.

I really liked how they do the timer, because it shows you how far in the room you have progressed. One of the puzzles didn’t trigger for us and we were frustrated by that and so wound up taking an unnecessary clue.

A great escape room with a large variety of puzzles to solve and advance the room. Primarily puzzle solving with not alot of searching, great for teams that want to give their brains an exercise.
