An amazing escape room experience that doesn't compromise on production value nor puzzle design while being present in the heart of the Northwestern Chicago suburbs. The animatronic engineering and room manipulation made for a great venue to make a small, attention-to-detail heavy approach that made for an enjoyable and unique theme that acted like an omakase of different themes. The eclectic nature of puzzles, while predictable in expectation and structure, were executed wonderfully, none of them wearing their welcome It's rare to have an escape room be well-made for 2 players, but this is one of them! I actually think this room might get too cramped above 4 players. You'd definitely have players sitting out far more at that rate. Shout-out to Katie for being a lovely GM that encapsulated the ideal energy for helping players out! And shout-out to Envy for being friendly and shuffling us in!

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!! The set was amazing and well designed and made! Things were high quality and nothing seemed old and broken. Very high tech room! I think there was maybe only 1-2 traditional locks in the whole room. Story was fun and interesting! The set design was AMAZING! Really wished I could see how it works but unfortunately thatβs a secret π€£ Not scary at all! Kids would love it! Puzzles werenβt too hard. Iβd say Easy-Medium range? We went in as a group of 2 and finished with 17:46 to spare. Super fun experience! Would definitely recommend!

The set design was AMAZING! The main room is somewhat standard but great use of lights and electronics to guide players through the storyline! The employees room is where it shines! No spoilers, but I would have LOVED to see how they made the set!

One of the best. Exceptional, exceptional environment. Cool puzzles. Only one traditional lock, mostly it was more creative puzzles. We got out quickly in our group of 5, 35 minutes, with two people who have never done an escape room before. Very linear play -- don't go with a group bigger than 5. Ideal is 3-4.

This has charm and some good humor, but the puzzles are painfully easy, and the game is quite short. We were 3 and finished in just over 25 minutes. Probably better for beginners (a very good first room option) or for that nostalgia itch. (The Video Store room in Orlando may have spoiled this for me though - that's a lot more real to the nostalgia and loaded with puzzles).

What an elegant, impressive, and whimsical game! Beyond the charming theme is a polished set with spectacular lighting cues; stunning reveals; and clean puzzles that are varied, tactile, and just plain fun. While this experience is overall elegant with immaculate flow, there was one spot where the tech was a little finicky, and there is a certain puzzle that will be nigh impossible for anyone even vaguely colorblind. Overall, though, itβs a fantastic room for enthusiasts and newcomers. Just a joy!

Lockbuster Video may be the best and most creative escape room I have ever done. Without spoiling there are multiple mechanics in the room that are just really fun and you can't find at most other escape rooms. The puzzles are creative (albeit a little easy), but everything about the room just works. 2/3 of our game masters were friendly, however the third (that let us out of the room, a bigger bearded man) was downright rude and clearly was trying to rush out of the room.
The room flows pretty well. I do wish there was a "grand finale" room instead of the kind of abrupt ending that happens, but that may be just because we had 20 minutes to spare.
The gamemaster that greeted us and the gamemaster that put us in the room were both friendly, however the gamemaster that took us out of the room (a bigger bearded man) was rude. In the room there is a prop that is a chewed up piece of gum and, credit to the room, it is very realistic so I just wanted to let him know just in case it wasn't a prop. His response, with a sassy tone, "It's an easter egg", as if he was annoyed by me telling him. We also let him know about a loose screw in one of the rooms and his response (again) was basically to look confused as why we were even asking him. Along with that he just wasn't friendly and was trying to rush us out of the room as soon as possible. This is the 2nd experience I've had here with a game master who doesn't give us an opportunity to breath before rushing us out of the building.

Very creative room. We wouldnβt say it was too challenging. There were unique aspects to the room which we liked because it was different from the regular escape room themes (prison escape, mafia etc).
