Arr, matey! Can you beat the sunset curse before it’s too late? Captain Goldbeard has spent years voyaging the seas in hopes of acquiring treasures beyond his wildest dreams. But one night, many moons ago, the Captain and his crew landed themselves in troubled water embarking on a quest where few others dare go, aboard an abandoned ship laden with treasure, known as ‘The Soul Catcher’. You only have one hour to break the curse before the sun sets beyond the horizon or you will be left prisoner aboard The Soul Catcher for eternity—and with no escape! Do you have what it takes to find the hidden treasure and beat the deadly sunset curse or will you become the next prisoner of The Soul Catcher?

Rating: 3.5/5 - My favorite at Escapology so far, though a bit generic and easy Pros: ➕Set looked great and everything in it fit the theme ➕Nice lighting and audio with some cool effects ➕Puzzles and flow were decent ➕Mix of tech triggers and padlocks, the padlocks looked appropriate to the theme, not modern ➕More than a single room ➕GM was friendly Cons: ➖One annoying math puzzle I didn't like ➖One tech interaction didn't work the first time I tried it, I needed to retry it several times before it worked ➖Maybe a bit short/easy for enthusiasts, I played solo with only a small nudge and finished with 18 min left and I'm not a particularly strong puzzler ➖Story/narrative is generic and forgettable I'd recommend 1-3 enthusiasts, they do allow solo bookings. Update: My ranking of all Escapology rooms I've played (multiple locations). 1. A Pirate's Curse - 3.5/5 2. Scooby-Doo - 3.5/5 3. Lost City - 3.5/5 4. Star Trek: Quantum Filament - 3/5 5. Th3 C0D3 - 3/5

Fun room, great theme and decor. Puzzles were semi difficult but not too challenging. Excited to escape other rooms!

There were one or two puzzles we found unintuitive, but otherwise the room flowed well. The theme is a bit common for escape rooms, but the set design is decent. For these franchise escape rooms, it is one of the better ones out there and one of the better ones I've done at Escapology.

Ahoy mateys! This room is one of the finest Escapology experiences across the seven seas! By incorporating more immersive elements, technological wow moments, and a higher-quality build than some of their other rooms, Pirate’s Curse sets itself apart from what you might expect from this chain company. Puzzles weren’t too hard, though one did trip us up a little because it is oddly confusingly presented. There are a lot of the same lock, but the flow makes a lot of sense regardless. This experience is definitely more about the adventure and setting. Our team of 2 made the leaderboard! So if you like pirate rooms, come aboard and bring along all your brains and brawn. Together, we’ll find all the things we’re looking for!
