25 escape rooms
I would not recommend this escape room company to anyone. It seems like they care more about the other activities they have (arcade games, pay to play vr golf, etc.) Instead of their escape rooms. They give you so many clues so that they ensure you get through the room. None of it is intuitive or unique or actually mentally challenging. It was also disappointing to see an escape room company use AI art in their marketing.
Gameplay
Only very linear puzzles
Atmosphere
They did a decent job decorating and immersing you
Customer service
The staff were fine, however we had to wait for our picture after while he was cleaning up the room, and he immediately started upselling us on everything else they had
Particularly interesting or different
No
Story
It was a complete Harry Potter rip off, not creative or unique at all
Difficulty
Easy
The puzzles were just basic, except for the ones that you literally couldnt solve without an explanation. They had so many issues with a puzzle they had a video explaining it. Everytime you hit a snag or werent sure where to go, youd get a clue, instead of the game master just letting you struggle and figure it out yourself
Game tech
Mechanical
Ideal number of players

It was so linear you could do this by yourself
Scary
Spooky
Was anything broken?
No
The puzzles just weren't easy to understand without multiple instructions one. One of yhe puzzles was so worn down i could barely see it.

LakeEscape (Owner)
Mary, while everyone is entitled to an opinion, we strongly disagree with the picture this review paints of Lake Escape and our escape rooms. We have built our business around delivering exceptional experiences, and more than 1,500 guest reviews speak far louder about the consistency and quality of our product than a single review does. We are extremely proud of that track record, and we absolutely stand behind our rooms, our puzzles, and our team. Calling our additional attractions evidence that we somehow “care less” about escape rooms is particularly unfair. Our success allowed us to expand what we offer—not neglect what built our business. Arcade games, axe throwing, golf and other entertainment were added because our guests wanted more reasons to stay, play and come back. We make no apologies for continuing to grow and improve our business. Regarding clues: our Game Masters are there to keep an experience moving when a team becomes stuck. Some guests want absolutely no assistance; others want hints so they can continue enjoying the room. If a team wants a no-hint or minimal-hint experience, all they have to do is tell us. Providing assistance is not an attempt to manufacture a 60-minute escape—it is part of professionally hosting an escape room. And yes, when we identify an element that some guests have difficulty understanding, we create additional tools to help explain it. We view responding to guest behavior and improving how an experience is communicated as responsible operation—not evidence of an inferior product. We understand that you personally didn’t enjoy the style of this room, and that’s completely fair. What we don’t agree with is turning personal preferences about puzzle style, difficulty and clue frequency into broad statements about the quality or priorities of our company. After 1,500+ reviews and thousands of guests through our doors, we’re very comfortable standing behind what we’ve built. One experience may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we’re incredibly proud of Lake Escape, our escape rooms, and the team that delivers them every day.
