262 escape rooms

My partner brought me here for a little birthday escaping and we had a blast from minute one. As soon as you walk in to the venue you’re immediately greeted with an arcade full of old pinball machines, there’s an Apple computer/Mac Museum, it’s a great vibe. Once being taken through to our room it was clear it was designed with a lot of love. The room was decked out with cute science accoutrement and specific staff areas to work through. Something that stood out for me was the very clear and concise flow through the puzzles. This is probably the most important thing to get right in a one roomer. Big yes from me. Some genuinely tricky solves in this but nothing that required huge leaps in logic, just well designed challenging puzzles. Our host Sam was such a sweetheart. Her manner and vibe was so warm and kind, she really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and excited to be there. A fun room worth the drive.

AH! THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE! Now usually when venues throw around terms like “expert difficulty”, I do tend to brace for impact as this usually ends up meaning the puzzles are silly or it’s just a blatant exaggeration. But by god, was The Science Lab a genuinely difficult, well balanced game! It’s kind of crazy to consider that this is Sam’s (one of the owners) first time designing an escape room because I was really impressed by the variety and complexity of not only the puzzles but the narrative that was interwoven. 6 scientists, 6 fields, 6 passwords all scattered across the lab in a gauntlet of content. Big fan. Sam actually provides players with a small booklet pre-game that serves as both a notepad and a clue guide for each puzzle, such a clever addition which can be used as much or as little as players desire. I had a really great time working my way through this one and watching the heartfelt video of all the scientists at the conclusion was very cute and tied the whole thing together really nicely. I’m not crying, you’re crying. 7.3/10 🔏🧩
