One word. SCARY. Great room, hit all types of elements. Challenging, somewhat physical, and just plain out scary.

You have been unpacking for a week now as you continue to explore every nook and cranny in your new six-room house. You now understand why the locals were so weary of this house and always avoided it. There are however still some areas you have yet to fully search. One day as you were putting your groceries in the pantry for the first time, you notice a small crease in the wall. You put your hand up to the wall and realize it is actually an indentation. You grab your box cutter that you were just using and poke it right through the gaudy wallpaper that you wanted to replace anyway. You pull the blade across the wall. You hit a hard beam. You turn the blade downward and slice vertically to the floor. As you make the final cut through the wallpaper, the wall opens up and a doorway appears. Before you lies a small six-foot hallway with a door at the end of it. You walk six feet down the hallway to the door and grab the handle. It’s locked. You are glad because you’ve seen enough horror movies to know that you really didn’t want to know what was behind that door. With a sigh of relief, you turn around and walk back towards the kitchen. You take three steps forward, when an icy-cold wind blows right through you, taking the breath out of you. You stop in your tracks. You hear a loud creaking sound behind you. You turn around. The door is open. Again, you’ve seen enough horror movies to know that you shouldn’t so anywhere near that door. But, just as you – the Hardings – were called to this house, you are being called to this doorway. You physically can’t help it. You feel yourself being pulled to the doorway. You find yourself peering down into a dimly-lit basement. Again, you have seen enough horror movies to know that you don’t want to go down those stairs. But, yet again, you are physically pulled by some force down the stairs. The next thing you know you are standing on the cold concrete floor, staring up at the bright light emanating from the only way into and out of the basement. You feel the icy-cold wind again. The door slams shut and locks. The lights go out. You now find yourself trapped in the Seventh Room.

I have beef with this room. The tedium theme continued to be a hallmark of the Dare2Escape experience and really frustrated my group in this room in particular. One puzzle was reset with a piece missing that was never recovered during our game and caused the game master to have to come into the room. Eventually they had to just give us the answer because it was not possible to proceed without the piece. Another puzzle had tiny pieces which can easily be dropped and roll under any number of items in the room. Our game master also came into the room when a piece was dropped during our game. Thankfully we recovered it but the choice to include a puzzle like this in such a dimly lit room with so many places for items to roll or bounce under left me scratching my head. The scare factor was also WAY overhyped in my opinion. I’m afraid of literally everything, so I went into this experience expecting to be terrified. Our scare actor either messed up their timing or their heart just wasn’t in it. We were playing during a shift change and the GM we loved was not who we had during this portion of the game, so maybe we just fell through the cracks. Overall, the puzzles seemed unnecessary tedious and most lacked the payoff that makes me love playing rooms. This was my least favorite of the four games we played at this location.
We ran into some issues that caused our game to grind to a halt. A piece of a puzzle was completely missing and the game master had to come into the room twice. This really frustrated our group and took away from the immersive element.
I think I had overhyped this one in my head because some elements left me disappointed. Some items are showing significant wear and tear and need to be replaced.
Mandy is amazing! None of my issues with the game are related to her in any way.

There were some very unique elements to this game — some that added to the experience and others that frustrated us. I don’t understand the choice to have several puzzles with TINY pieces that can easily get dropped or lost.

One of the best if not the best escape rooms we’ve ever been in! The staff is incredible, the set is immersive, the plot and puzzles make sense and flow well. it is creepy and I don’t think this room is advisable if you don’t like spooky. At least one person in your party has to be okay with enclosed spaces. I can’t understand how this room would get anything other than the highest ratings. It is difficult, we had to take quite a few hints, but still worth it. Also the cost of this room is so affordable, they could definitely charge much more for the quality of the room.
Mandy is a queen.

4-6 seems like a good number of people based on clues and room size although the first room feels a bit cramped until you move on

Lots of crawling and interesting spaces. Although only one person in the group will need to access these, they can then allow the rest of the party to continue with ease

This is an EXCELLENT room. If you are looking for a scary thematic experience with continued lore from previous rooms, this is the one. Fantastic structure and set design. A variety of creative puzzles that required all sorts of solves. This is the best room in Dare2Escape and possibly the best one in Florida.

Just wow The pinnacle of their rooms Immersive <check> story driven <check> unique puzzles <check> difficult but fair <check check> Wish I could forget the room to do it again for the first time We finished with four of us and that felt like the right number for the experience. It truly is an experience vs just an escape room. Ashley was our GM and was phenomenal. Do this room but follow the story line for the location - save this one for one of your last rooms here Random facts: Easy parking Nice lobby Clean and ample bathrooms Options for food abound Great staff

We loved this room. Great setting, lots of fun changes. Danielle and Mika were fantastic.

Overall a great room! Loved the theming and immersion, for the most part everything flowed well and was intuitive. Got stuck at the beginning for a while since we didn’t take the hint literally. A few things that were frustrating from a solving puzzles standpoint Iike lack of lighting when it was clearly needed and dubious math. The room was played up to be extremely scary (which we were looking forward to) but were disappointed (not sure if this was done purposefully since I mentioned I do jump easily)- more spooky than scary. Our GM was incredible with setting the stage and vibe. Still one of our favorite rooms here and would recommend!
