You are world-renowned Detective Hercule Poirot, aboard the famous Orient Express. You have just solved the murder of Mr Ratchet, the man found stabbed to death in his cabin after being proved guilty of abducting and killing a young child - Daisy Armstrong - the daughter of a WW1 hero. However, just as you are preparing to deliver your verdict, new evidence reveals one of the passengers aboard the train has a much more deadly plan. One of the suspects is determined to put the entire tragedy behind them, and is involved in a chilling plot to end the lives of everyone on the train. Critical elements of the trainβs brake system have been secretly removed and the Orient Express is gently gathering speed as it descends the most treacherous part of the mountainous route. On its current projection, the train will derail at great speed on the sharp curve atop the towering Simplon Viaduct in precisely 60 minutes. Your objective is simple - find the potential killer and repair the brake lines to stop the train. Failure means certain death for all, while success means solving the most famous crime in history, and saving everyone aboard. Solve the riddles and puzzles, gather the evidence and catch the murderer before itβs too late! Do you have what it takes to save all the lives on-board? Time is of the essence!

Second time playing this room and it was as much fun as the first time! This room definitely makes you think! Even though I was sitting back and not playing very much, even I struggled at times trying to help the group when I didnβt remember the answer. All of the clues and puzzles were very clever, usually with the answers hiding in plain sight and being super easy (just sometimes time consuming) as soon as you figured out exactly what to do!

We played this game as soon as it opened and I feel like it might have benefited from some additional beta testing. There were a couple of things that didn't work properly and it felt like there were either too many puzzles or the puzzles were too complicated for a 60 minute game. Theming was good although it was relatively unchanged from the previous game, Budapest Express.
Some puzzles didnβt work correctly which impacted gameplay. Some were too complicated or multi-tiered for the 60 minute timeframe.
Set and props looked amazing but were relatively unchanged form the previous game, Budapest Express.
Staff was nice.

Solid room! Clues were fun and made sense. Minimal interaction with staff but they were friendly. Would have been really tight with more than 4 people. Would recommend!

Murder on the Orient Express is many things - being both a highly recognizable licensed franchise game, and this location's only 10/10 difficulty room - and let me say, it lives up to both! The set design is relatively basic for the area (we are in the same market as Doldrick's Crazy Train), but this game shines in its fun escape-room logic puzzles. It should be noted, doing this back to back with Scooby-Doo, it shares very similar DNA, especially towards the end of the game (both are whodunits). I'd recommend only for those looking for a challenge and if you really want to try an Escapology room. While not bad, you can find better nearly anywhere else in Orlando (details on experience below).
The pacing of the room is poor. The first puzzle is mind-shatteringly difficult, and we spent over 10 minutes on it (with hints). It gets easier as it goes, which is nice, but I wish it was paced better. There were some really fun puzzles once you got past the first one and the whodunit kicked in.
Props all felt worn. Window screens felt dated. Each subsequent room is less impressive than the last. It feels like they blew the budget on the first room and had to make compromises as it went on. Additionally, tech-based puzzles were implemented in places that didn't make sense at all, and broke the immersion.
Our GM was kind and attentive, and gave us hints when requested. However, at the end of the game, before we had even done the final thing to stop the train, she walked into the room and began asking us questions about how we liked it and such. We couldn't even hear the congratulatory story conclusion spiel because she was rushing us out of the room. I get it, we were the last group of the night, and walk-ins, but it really put a sour note on an otherwise enjoyable experience. Combined with how my Scooby game played the wrong ending with no consolation, Escapology really needs to work on ensuring their games deliver a strong finish.
Yes
Solely for the licensed IP. Other than that, there are better executions of everything this game does elsewhere.
I feel like the stress of a 10/10 room with the extensive reading to appreciate the whodunit aspects aren't the best match.

You'd need to be a pro to complete this with no hints.

Mostly mechanical. Tech was implemented in places that didn't make sense.

We really enjoyed this room. The puzzles were definitely tricky but I didnβt feel like they were unintuitive or impossible to figure out without hints. It would probably be pretty hard for first timers or beginners but as far as Escapology rooms go it was definitely a good choice for more seasoned escape room players.

I think these games are fun for beginners and if youβre looking for something puzzle based, however i donβt think these games are the most immersive or worth the money. Iβve played much better games for less money. Escapology is alright in my opinion, not great.
Puzzles were decent, I think this place is fun if you are looking for mainly puzzle based games.
Props were nice, not very immersive imo

A few challenging puzzles. Our host was a little lackluster and abrasive which I think derailed our room experience (no pun intended). Overall it was ok but some puzzles could be cheesed easily.

Great atmosphere and good pacing, some of the magnetic puzzles can easily (and inadvertently) be cheesed.
