The Starlight Motel

I have waited 3 years to do this room and I absolutely loved every second of room. The ambience and immersive atmosphere was amazing. Set design and puzzles were some of the most creative that I have ever seen. I loved interacting with the live actor was super cool and fun. I just loved everything about this room and it exceeded all of my expectations. 100% in my top 5 rooms of all time. I will never forget this room. Our guide Conner was amazing as well and really made our experience the best it could be.

I’m still in awe of how incredible this experience was. Thomas (as Lou) made this game even more incredible for us. The design was so well thought out, the puzzles were incredible, and I was so immersed in this story. It definitely got my heart racing because I was SO in it! Thank you, Escape Artist Greenville Downtown and Hampton Station for hosting us for 7 of your games in 2 short days. We had a blast!

Starlight Motel is essentially a full horror thriller movie starring YOU! I should say that our team of 2 hates jumpscares, loathes horror, and fears scary rooms. I can also say that we LOVED this room full of all those things! Everything that happened was an unforgettable moment, from our role-play chats with the live actor hotel manager, exploring the unknown in the dark dingy sketchy motel rooms, and experiencing one of the most thrilling cinematic moments I’ve ever had. Again, we hate scary and found the scares manageable. We pretty much laughed after every scare, and even tried to hold in our smiles during what is arguably the most frightening, triggering part. We will never forget the finale. This is a must-do room, even if you’re a coward like us. If you’re coming in from out of town, book your night at the Starlight Motel! I enjoyed my stay here, and give this motel 5 stars on Yelp!

We couldn’t end our time in Greenville without doing this room. Several reviews described this room as immersive theatre where you engage/improv with an actor the whole time. I wouldn’t say that’s accurate. You definitely have your space to gain ground in the puzzles where you are left alone. And I was satisfied with the volume/quality of puzzles, at that. Still, being a horror room…with the expected jump scares, it kept us on edge but as with dark lullaby it wasn’t that bad on that aspect either. Needless to say, should you be able to stomach the tense atmosphere, a must play at this location.

Great escape room. It was different than any other we have done because there was actor in the game with you. A few jump scares as well. Highly recommend

Very fun and extremely interactive room. We love Escape Artist and have enjoyed all of their rooms so far. Our GM/Hotel Manager Pork did an amazing job being in character. I felt all the puzzles were straight forward and fit the theme. Definitely has the creepy vibe it is shooting for. Several parts were very fun and slightly scary (if you are scared of those types of situations). But I wont spoil it. Couple of cool fun puzzles that we have seen before elsewhere but done in a creative way that fit the theme. Highly recommend Escape Artist.

I think the fact that our party was forgotten about and started this room late put a damper on the room itself. We got to the location early as apart of an escape room weekend. We totally understood not being able to start the room early but we would have liked to have started it on time. Our GM was absolutely brilliant though! Puzzles were ok. Not a lot stands out for me though looking back.

This was such a great room! My husband and I have done a lot of escape rooms, but this was our first one with a live actor. I wasn’t sure what that would be like, but it was great! He kept things moving along. This room had some puzzle types that were unique for us, so it kept us thinking and engaged. We definitely recommend it.

The Starlight Motel. The game that (imo) put EA Greenville on the map, and therefore came with a ton of hype. I am happy to report that it absolutely lives up to it and deserves even more. What makes this room is the interactions with the actor (which are required - get your improv hat ready!) and the finale which genuinely was one of those most thrilling and scary moments I’ve had in an escape room. The tension that builds up through the entire game is palpable and truly a masterpiece. Come from anywhere you can go spend a night at the Starlight Motel, cause it just might be your last!
