Your friend Connor, an aspiring novelist has been working on a book about serial killers. He thinks he has scored his big break when he finds a lead on the Zodiac Killer. Obtaining information on a serial killer that was never caught was an oppotunity too great to pass up. So he headed off to the small midwestern town to speak with this informant, Zed Holman, the owner of a junkyard. This was six months ago and you have not heard from Connor since. The police are not able to file a missing person's report, so you decide to go see for yourself. When you finally arrive in town, night is falling and a storm is on the horizon. You approach the junkard looking for answers as to the fate of your friend......

This was a really interesting game. The first room was well themed and spooky with the atmosphere. The game kind of loses its story a bit going from room to room but there are definitely some “Wow” moments that are fun. Now, as much as I loved the room, our experience was greatly hindered by the game master stepping in to help us with almost every puzzle. Almost to the point where I was ready to just leave the room. I get wanting to help us to finish the room which is appreciated, but we couldn’t even work through a puzzle without the GM stepping in.
Staff themselves were friendly and inviting. But the game master gave way too many hints where it felt like they solved the game for us.

There was one puzzle that didn’t trigger something, so the GM had to enter the room to fix it.

The best we have done so far. I wish they would let you ask for hints and not just give them, but amazing overall

Our favorite to date! This is a top rated room close to us and it did not disappoint. The room has so many fun challenging puzzles, interactive elements and super immersive. The staff was so friendly and you can’t beat this for a fun Saturday night.

This room is a must-do if you are in the Charlotte area, let alone at Masterpiece Escapes! No wonder it has so many awards and nominations! 1. The setting: Masterpiece never disappoints with their sets & this is the first junkyard escape room I've ever been in! 2. The puzzles: after doing many rooms, you sometimes will start to at least see familiar ones. Not here! EVERY puzzle was unique! 3. The flow just moved along wonderfully. The first 2/3 of this room are very linear followed by a very non-linear finale!
Great puzzles! A wild experience!
You are in a junkyard. There's a storm coming. It feels REAL.
The staff is always welcoming!
Yes
I'll just say yes. (Without spoiling anything, the opening room is so immersive & the finale is nuts and intense!!)
My ONLY critique of this room. The end of the storyline isn't really baked into the room.
Hard
High tech
There's a few high tech things, but more locks (especially later on), HOWEVER, the puzzles to get the answers were interesting & not tedious.

Scary
A little scary given the serial killer theme

Wrecked was a hidden gem! Some of my favorite puzzles I’ve encountered out of 300. Really great theme as well. Interesting combination of environments that were a bit tough to follow through, but found myself so in tune with the game and out flow that I didn’t mind it. Definitely a can’t miss at Masterpiece.
Great use of environmental props to devise unique puzzles. Everything flowed so well and I kept finding myself vocalizing that “I really enjoyed that” over and over again! Great combination of fun puzzles!
Love how creative the layout was. The second room felt so fresh to something I’ve never seen in an escape rooms and I really was in awe at how simple, yet fresh and effective it was!

Incredible! One of the most atmospherically unique rooms I’ve seen. Very well decorated with a few jump scares and some really fun special effects. Puzzles are creative and flow well together. Staff is super friendly, and our game master paid great attention to our game.

This game was great! There’s more when you think you’re done! The back story the staff gave prior to entering was great, it all tied back together in the end. I’d love to do a second version of this room. Great special effects, technology used throughout. Can’t say enough about it. Highly recommend

Really amazing!! They took a lot of time planning the room and setting up the story. Special effects were done very well!

Amazing they explained the story before the room started and then after you got out, they gave you the second part. It was fantastic, once you hear the second part of the story it all comes back together!
