66 escape rooms
Wow! What a thrilling and immersive experience! After The Man from Beyond (Strange Bird Immersive) in Houston, I was waiting to find another escape room that could match the benchmarks set by their production level, immersion, performance - and the puzzle design of course. Happy to say, Hope End exceeded our expectations! The Ministry of Peculiarities should be on the wishlist of every escape room enthusiast. The quality of puzzles was excellent. They were thematic, layered, and just made sense. A joy to figure out and solve. The game is not scary but spooky. I enjoyed the surprise moments sprinkled throughout. The game flowed very well and the choreography was excellent. Our "GM" stayed in character throughout, dressed for the part, and interacted with the group ad lib. I encourage you to actively (and sportingly) participate. Our game and everyone's individual progress was followed closely. I enjoyed the dry and sarcastic humor that accompanied the overall mystery. We lost track of time inside (in a good way). There wasn't an obvious countdown timer. However, they made sure we stayed on track. A minimum of 4 experienced players is recommended. A group of 6 would be ideal (and fun). Communication is especially important in the initial stages.
Gameplay
Very good flow. It's a nice mix of linearity within non-linearity. Very well done gameplay. Good puzzle variety and unique elements.
Atmosphere
Absolutely! Immersive from the entrance and even extending to the restroom. Special effects and lighting were excellent.
Customer service
Welcoming, fun...and mysterious GM!
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
Immersive experience with well executed puzzles in a well done set. I wasn't expecting some of the interactions we had!
Story
Very good storytelling. An instance where the story actually develops beyond the premise. And...there is an epilogue!
Difficulty
Hard
We were "switched on" and our team (thankfully) was ridiculously in-sync and intuitive. The puzzles have different variety from mechanical manipulation to logical reasoning to correlative observation. A person may find a puzzle more challenging than the other - depending on their strengths. Teamwork is essential in some parts. Given the immersion and uncertainty of what's next, the challenge is titillating!

Minimum 4. But a group of 6 is perfect.
Scary
Spooky
It's not scary. The atmosphere and interactions are spooky. Some effects may catch you off-guard (along the lines of a jumpscare) - but the are manageable. Suitable for most people.
