You and your friends have 60 minutes to find all your gear and put it back together before your mom kicks them out and they all go over to Wade's house.

Fun room full, I mean FULL of games. There is a working atari and mini games if you’re bored of the main room, but you won’t :) There are so many clue-like things everywhere, but don’t get overwhelmed, when you need something you see where it comes from. Oh, no spoilers, but how you reach the second room was super cool, kudos for the clever space use :))) Overall, perfect if you are a nintendo fan!

8-Bit Escape is my favorite 80's-themed escape room. It has all of the things you want it to have. The set feels authentic, the sounds were nostalgic and there were several fun and unexpected moments.
Gameplay
The puzzles were fun, nostalgic and signposted well in a room where there is a lot to look at. There is nothing better than coming across puzzles/tasks that are themed so well that you know what is about to happen before it even happens, and 8-Bit Escape has exactly that.
Atmosphere
The set and atmosphere are spot on. It looks, sounds and even smells like the 80's to some degree. As someone who grew up in the 80's, I spent a fair amount of my time in the room saying "Oh, cool! It's a... "
Customer service
As I said in another review, the GMs at Escape Room Herndon are exactly what you want in a GM, both as a player and as an owner.

We're so happy you loved 8-Bit Escape! When building this game we bought things, saying to ourselves, "Oh wow, that's a ... we need that in the room" lol Same with some of the puzzles. Great set design. Loved the theme! Poor flow, and a few of the puzzles were not well clued or unable to solve until later, in a nonsensical way. It was still fun and did have a few really good puzzles, too. But one of the puzzles was outright faulty and we had to keep guessing until it worked. Set design was better than the puzzles. Game master was very nice and it was a very welcoming place. Definitely recommend, aside from a few minor things which need fixing

I really like how non-linear it was. Many quests could be worked at the same time, so we were never stuck watching one person try to solve something.

We designed this game to have multiple puzzle strings exactly for this reason. There is alot to do, but it also allows everyone to get involved with the puzzles that work best for them. We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed it :D

Ok, if you are a Gen-Xer, prepare to lose some time to reminiscing. I wanted to just sit and absorb. My ADHD was going crazy. Great room!!! Our number 2 spot of 2026 goes to this room. There was one puzzle specifically that I was so frustrated by and then suddenly, I got it, I thought I was gonna die. Lol...and one that we didnt even have to find the answer, it was known without having to even look. Great fun!!

Amy, so happy you had a great time in 8-BIT. We kind of think of it like a mini living museum for people from that era (or at least that's what it is for me lol). The one puzzle you knew the answer to is our "reward" for those who could have that code stored somewhere way deep down in parts of the brain :P We hope you will join us again soon!

We had a lot of fun in this room! The nostalgia is the main draw. From the reviews, my expectations were honestly a bit higher, but I think that it's an older room, and that shows. There were a couple of things that were "leaps," and some things that in more modern rooms would be triggered by tech, seemed to just be manually released by a GM when you got things close enough... We had just a couple of minutes left on the clock in the end, and we enjoyed our time (group of 6).
