“When we first entered the room, we weren't sure what to expect, because it looked like there were a ton of basic locks. However, there were tons of other types of puzzles and variation. I don't want to spoil some, but after doing 40+ rooms, there was an element that we had never seen incorporated into an escape room before. It has a fun, playful atmosphere. Lots of fun puzzles even if we had to enter a lot of codes into locks! There were some pop culture references that my husband and I weren't familiar with, but we still had an absolute blast. We didn't feel like we were missing out on any jokes. Definitely going to always remember this room!!”

“This room has a great vibe and was fun to play! We had a great game master who helped keep the room immersive. We met the owner who let us see a couple of the other rooms as well. We can’t wait to come back and play the rest of the rooms.”

“Rating: 4/5 Fun room, it was very charming and cute! There was an interesting variety of puzzles (multiple senses used and some physical manipulation) with lots of electronic triggers, everything flowed well. There were a few padlocks but they were used where appropriate. The set looked high quality with lots of color/graphics, custom props, more than 1 room, and great theming. There was one particular "wow" moment that we enjoyed. The owners and GM were also super friendly and helpful. I played this as a team of two and it was on the easy side, I'd recommend 2-3 people. And it would be great for families with kids. I'll definitely be back to try more of their rooms!”

“Easily one of the best if not, the best escape room I have done. The gameplay was nothing short of exhilarating. With a nonlinear structure, and a variety of different puzzles that weren’t too easy but weren’t annoyingly hard, our whole group was enthralled the whole time. The atmosphere was truly incredible, with the many unique ways they incorporated technology, sound, and lighting to truly make this room levels above the competition. I always wanted escape rooms to have a more immersive, deep story behind it, and this is the first room that finally delivered. The service was also amazing, we were here on a business trip, and none of the times had worked for us, but I was able to reach out to them and they were able to accommodate us and make a later time so that we could do this room, with no extra charge too!”

“This was such an upgrade and colorful room. Meant to focus on Thanksgiving and collaboration, it's a real challenge for just two people, but definitely possible as we made it through. Cute puzzles that were an absolute treat to complete. I appreciate an escape room that can incorporate joy and humor so elegantly with an impending clock!!!”

“We loved The Machine. Great use of technology and no traditional locks. This one was tough with just two people as there’s a lot to pay attention to and clues that come before you need them. Highly recommend this one. Our second at Captivating Worlds and we intend to do their others soon as well.”

“TLDR: gameplay was good but it’s the atmosphere and effects that made this a truly memorable room and one of the best experiences I’ve had. My group was lucky enough to have the owner and builder of the rooms be our game master for the night. I got to talk to him about why he created this, and he said it was his passion project. After doing this room, I could tell. Gameplay: I did this escape room with a group of five people. It ranged from people who have never done an escape room, to people who have done about 20 escape rooms. It was good to see clues that everyone was able to get. I also have never seen this before, but the first clue scales, depending on how many people are in your group, which was a really cool idea and is executed well. Overall the clues were good. While nothing about the clues really stood out, it’s the atmosphere that makes this truly memorable. Atmosphere: you could tell the game builder spent a lot of time, making sure this was an adventure, rather than just a couple puzzles thrown into a room to solve. From the props, to the special effects, to the immersive story, it was awesome. This was my first escape room, where there was actually a decent story, where you discovered more about the story as you solved the clues. We also appreciated how the clues were realistic and logical to the story.”

“Love this one!! Super immersive game with a different atmosphere in each section of the room. Fun puzzles!! Struggled with two puzzles that might click easier for hunters or anyone more familiar with guns, but thankfully our game master helped us out. Highly recommend!”

“My wife and did this room and it was a lot of fun. Some reviews may suggest a large group due to the amount of puzzles. I will admit there is a lot going on, but I feel if you have prior experience you can handle it. The theming and atmosphere are spot on. Object usage was imaginative even though similar to other rooms we’ve played. Overall we were very pleased with this room experience. Keep it up Escape Game. We’ll be back.”

“Very fun game. Great puzzles, a few I hadn’t seen implemented before. A little scattered at the beginning, and 1 puzzle that felt like it should have been implemented differently or 1 aspect changed. Would very much recommend overall”

“Loved this room! The theme was super on point, and we truly felt like we were in a Grandma's cozy living room. Unique variety of puzzles and funny storyline. My husband and I have done lots of rooms, and this one was pretty challenging for us... Although, we did miss a couple more obvious clues that would have been helpful early on, making it much easier. Cool ambience in the whole place and an awesome GM that only gave us clues when we asked!”

“What a fantastic room in an absolutely wonderful small business. The puzzles were my exact flavor of logic with some clever variety. The aesthetic is gorgeous, lots of unique handmade elements that give a classic feel to some very fun tech. I genuinely loved this room and had a great chat with one of the owners who was very welcoming. This ranks high on my list of favorite rooms. I highly recommend and will be back myself for the other rooms!”

Columbus, Ohio is a beauty! From the towering Statehouse that sits in the center of Capitol Square to the numerous green-spaces and parks from across town, beauty radiates throughout this bustling urban center. Of course beauty isn't enough to make a city great though. Thankfully, Columbus also delivers when it comes to things to do and see. From world-class museums and galleries, to sports teams representing both college and professional sports leagues and attractions such as COSI – North America's largest science museum – there truly is something for everyone here. On top of all that, you can't beat the temperate weather Columbus enjoys during most months of the year! All these reasons help explain why Columbus continues to be one of America's greatest cities.
Columbus is home to several exciting escape rooms that offer challenging and immersive experiences for participants. One popular option is Captivating Worlds, which features rooms like "The Sins of Doctor Faustus," and "Deep Underground." These rooms offer unique themes and puzzles that will challenge participants' minds and teamwork skills. Another notable escape room in Columbus is Team Escape Rooms, which offers rooms like "Curse of the Hidden Temple," and "Nightmare in Pink." These rooms are designed to test participants' problem-solving and critical thinking skills while providing a thrilling adventure. Whether you're a local or visiting Columbus, these escape rooms offer a fun and exciting way to test your problem-solving skills and enjoy a unique adventure.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
