“This room was supppper nostalgic. The environment was so immersive and well decorated. Although relatively easy for our experienced group of 4 we all had a blast! Highly recommend this room. It’s definitely within one of my top two rooms at this location.”

“Great great great room! Technology in the room is great! I’ll admit some parts didn’t make all that much sense to me at times but I’m sure someone smarter than me could figure it out! If we only had 5 more minutes we could have escaped! Definitely a great room and very immersive!”

“Really fun, unique game with replayability. The Odditorium Emporium is full of hundreds of weird and wacky items like nothing I've seen before. The walls are filled. The choose your own adventure style of game was really fun because you didn't know which puzzles you were going to get. WE LOVE HUBERT - the talking plant puppet game master. He was sassy, funny and felt like the fifth member of the team. We had a great time with our group of 4 and set a respectable score of 249 points. We were given a loyalty card when we left with the puzzles we did punched out so when we come back we can play totally different games. Love that we can replay it over and over.”

“What a neat experience. It’s unlike other rooms we’ve played. The immersion is excellent, especially given there were no live actors in the room. This game has no traditional locks or puzzles. The lighting is dim, but we had no problem seeing what we needed to. The set was great, and the puzzles were fun even though we tended to overthink some of them. It was all so well done, BUT for us, it was a bit too chaotic (which actually enhances the immersion). Some of the sounds were a little too loud and made it hard to hear important information. We’re good with a little less immersion, I suppose. 😎 Still, I have to give this game a ❤️. It was that good. One of the owners, Kevin, ran the game for us and he was fantastic. We can’t wait to play the other games they are building currently. These guys are passionate about building original rooms that are different and truly immersive.”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
