Really enjoyed this room! They make excellent use of the space, making it feel much bigger than it actually is. The decor looks fantastic, the puzzles are clever and satisfying, and everything flows together smoothly. This is probably the second-best Egyptian-themed room Iโ€™ve done so farโ€”and thatโ€™s no pyramid scheme! ๐Ÿช The theming and atmosphere really pull you in, and there are plenty of little details that make the experience feel thoughtfully crafted. I also canโ€™t praise the team here enough for their exceptional customer service. The owners have created some truly beautiful experiences, and you can tell just how much time, care, and passion theyโ€™ve poured into these rooms. Everything feels polished, intentional, and made with the player experience in mind. A fantastic experience from start to finish. Definitely worth unearthing! ๐Ÿบ

This was the most challenging of the five rooms, both in terms of puzzle complexity and overall difficulty. The puzzles were fun and mostly straightforward, though several required some creative thinking. The standout feature was the room-to-room reveals, which were well executed and added to the experience. If youโ€™re playing with just two people, having some prior escape room experience is recommended, as this room can be quite a challenge.

My favorite room at Lock, Clock and Peril They have an assortment of fantastic rooms but the blend of originality, craftsmanship, seamless storytelling and puzzle variety really won me over. One of the best โ€œrelic roomsโ€ Iโ€™ve played so far I cannot rave about this game and the place enough Paul and Tanya made a truly special place. Highly recommend this for large or small groups - we tackled as a couple and finished on time with limited clues. Go enjoy a night out as a couple and try this room Tidbits: Fantastic crew and owners Comfy lobby and your own waiting room between games Rebooking discount for same day bookings Plenty to do at and drink near by Easy parking If you are heading to Charlotte to play other games, stop here first - well worth the trip

Who needs Lara Croft when you can be your own Tomb Raider at Lock, Clock, and Perilโ€™s exceptional Egyptian room! We see a lot of this theme doing as many escape rooms as we do. This one stood out with fun wow moments, effects, references, and a great set. There were moments of confusion for us with what we could and couldnโ€™t do in the room, but we eventually figured things out and the flow felt fine afterwards. Liked seeing our good bony friend Chester!

LCP has taken a relatively common tomb theme and really made it their own. They've set the bar incredibly high. The owners are so good at effectively using their space - its like magic. The set looks great and the puzzles are perfectly integrated. The escape at the end of this room may be my favorite one yet!

Gameplay

Gameplay was fun and active. There was a lot to do but it flowed so well it never felt overwhelming.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere was fabulous. Special effects really add to the experience and their hint delivery system fit perfectly.

Customer service

The owners and staff at LCP are all amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience from start to finish.

1001 escape rooms

As an enthusiast, Iโ€™ve played many tomb games, BUT never one as fun or as creative as this one! They took the classic tomb style game and kicked it up a notch (maybe 100 notches)! Adding fun antics and puzzles to the game play that gave it a fresh exciting feel. There were many moments of, โ€œwell thatโ€™s a new puzzle Iโ€™ve never seen beforeโ€ in this room. Absolutely loved this game.

Wow!!!! What a fun game๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿฅน I absolutely LOVED the reveals in this one, gameplay flowed well without having an over reliance on decoding ancient symbols, which Egyptian tomb rooms sometimes manage to do It felt like every time something opened, it happened differently! Especially secret passageways ;) There are a couple good jumpscares in this one and it definitely feels premium!!

7 escape rooms

First one weโ€™ve done at lock clock and peril but by no means our first. Took less than 45 minutes with just two of us but we are experienced! Very physical, lots of crawling back and forth, climbing steps etc. Things will fall, there are a few jump scare type things but not at all scary. Lots of props and object manipulation. Overall, highly recommend but no more than 4 people would be my recommendation.

560 escape rooms

A fine game with a few fun moments, it's nevertheless my least favorite at Lock, Clock & Peril... but it could be the theme. An Egyptian room has never wowed me, and tragically no escape owners seem to research the subject matter prior to puzzle design (which anyone moderately interested in ancient Egypt would find distracting).** I also found this room the least fun and silly out of the five rooms here, and fun and silly is where this company excels! The decor had a more "handmade" feel to it than their other games. **One example - Hieroglyphs are indeed phonetic, and it would be quite easy with just a few hours of Wikipedia'ing to create puzzles requiring transliteration of real glyphs to latin letters, but no owners seem to do that work. One glaring example: Egyptian words don't use vowels, yet most Egyptian rooms create fake glyphs to conveniently overlay over the entire English alphabet. Why not use the REAL, actual words for "Osiris" "Ra" "Horus" instead of making them up? (These words already exist!) I've never seen a room use fake Spanish or Chinese words, nor should games start doing that... MINOR SPOILERS An artifact used in one puzzle of the game is a replica of a real art piece depicting Akhenaten and Nefertiti, which I'd never seen in a game. When I brought this up with the owners, I'm not sure they knew the story behind the couple -- and so this puzzle might unintentionally have some deeper meaning than intended! (See the depiction at the top of this article, if interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amarna_art)

Of the three rooms we did (A Not So Fairytale Ending and Teleporter Trials being the others), I think this was my favorite because it best delivered on its core fantasy. The space felt tomblike, and the puzzles remained (mostly) tightly themed throughout. There are lots of props to handle and manipulate, and the mostly mechanical workings of the room felt perfect for a tomb (a couple of light effects notwithstanding). The Egyptian tomb is probably one of the hoariest tropes in escape rooms, but this room executes it very well.

Mostly mechanical, but yes, there's a laser! If you're experienced you've probably done this mechanic a few times and will see it coming long before it happens, but that doesn't make it any less fun.
