Very excited but nervous heading back to Social Escape for Bank Heist, said to be notoriously difficult! We ended up having a real blast of a time. The bank vault theming was superb and the puzzles were challenging and creative, full of hi-tech and traditional padlock fun. For those concerned about the difficulty, it isn’t really that bad if you just focus on the main challenge — it’s the optional side quest puzzles that make it so impossibly hard to complete 100% and grab the $100 reward. We had a great time and liked this one possibly even more than the excellent Ransom. Will definitely be back again!

Very enjoyable room. I’d highly recommend it if you have not done it. We were visiting Sydney for the weekend and glad we got to end our trip with this room. The set design is next level. The optional quest at the end added a whole other level of tension to the room and really tested our teams skills.

Outstanding room! In every way. Do this room!

Personally I think this one is the weakest of the escape rooms at this place. It is REALLY hard and a lot of the puzzles still don't make sense to me. Overall still a good room but definitely not my favourite. They give you a piece of paper with stats of your playthrough and how you stacked up to others and when you solved specific puzzles.

What. A. Room. From the great flow of puzzles to the impressive vault door itself, the ‘Bank Heist’ was easily my favourite heist game. The bonus challenges were tricky, but very, very cool! We had the chance to see the breakdown of our experience graphed out against the average group entering into Bank Heist. It was a unique and fascinating opportunity to dig down into the data of the game. Mark, Social Escape Rooms’s creator, took the time to run through other puzzles and was so, so kind. It was great to talk escape rooms with such a passionate designer. I’m looking forward to returning to Social Escape next time I’m in Sydney to play more rooms!
The puzzles were tricky but so rewarding to complete! They flowed with the theme and connected beautifully.
Atmosphere was spectacular. The vault door is incredible!
Mark was awesome. He took so much time and care in discussing the room and its puzzles.

We really enjoyed this game! A stand out was being provided with a statistical breakdown of our progress in the room and a magnet for escaping. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the additional tasks that you could complete if you had extra time available as I felt it took away from the storyline of the room. The productive value of this room was fantastic!

Lordy. A challenge from start to finish and beyond, there is so much to work through it is almost unfathomable. An interesting stream of puzzles that relate to the story and finale and then a bonus challenge to solve all of the “optional” puzzles which was nearing on another room in itself. Strictly focusing on the traditional part of the room it was challenging with a variety of puzzles to keep you always occupied and engaged.

Such a creative room! A reasonably small space absolutely bursting with clever puzzles and fun solves, it kept my friends and I entertained for the whole 60 minutes (and then some). Some pretty tricky puzzles that favour the more experienced player but a very rewarding experience overall. The addition of optional puzzles pose a crazy challenge but the monetary incentive to finish them all kept us going. Mark the owner was wonderful!

Bank Heist was a blast! The setup of the room is really interesting: there’s a core task (steal the diamond and escape) but if you’ve done that and got some spare time, there’s an optional extra task. Solve that as well, and you score some real life cash! We got the gem relatively quickly but ran out of time to get the cash as well. Apparently only 7 teams have ever done it but we gave it a good crack. I loved that after we were done, our game master presented us with a stats sheet showing us when we cracked all the puzzles throughout the hour and how our times compared to the average across all of their escape sessions in that room.
Good flow. If something doesn’t make sense, don’t be afraid to put it down and look at something else - it’ll come around.
The vault door! Very cool.
Our game master (Darcy I think?) was great. Welcomed me back as a repeat visitor, clearly explained the core and optional components of the room, explained the remaining puzzles when we didn’t complete the optional portion, had a general chat about rooms afterwards… Didn’t use any hints so can’t comment on the in-game experience.

It was interesting to have the room split into a core task (steal the diamond and get out) and an optional extra task which has a real cash reward attached to it.
All of the puzzles related to the theme. Hacking, lots of locks, sourcing account numbers and breaking into safes…

We (2 people) finished the core task in 36 minutes, which would’ve been a bit disappointing on its own. However, we didn’t finish the optional extra task in our allotted time. The optional task really pushed us and added some extra skills tasks that we haven’t seen before.
A bit of both. Some sensors, lots of padlocks.
I think the website says 3 minimum but you can book and run with 2. Would only recommend to experienced escapers though.

One of the best escape rooms I’ve done due to the optional. Without those, it’s pretty average. With those, it’s a top 5
