A Pirates CurseEscapology - NapervilleEscape roomIRLDefinitely on the easier side of the games we have played. Pretty good mix of locks and actual technology. The storyline made sense and didn’t have us just guessing. The game was linear but there was still plenty of things for us to do as a larger group. One negative we had with the game was there was a specific puzzle that required a big tug which is usually something we are told to shy away from (2 finger touch). That definitely delayed us a while. Overall we had a good time, but it wasn’t the best game we’ve played. 67/100
Jurassic EscapeMind Trap Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLOverall fantastic production value. The room was extremely high tech with very few padlocks. The room was extremely cool with a few animatronics that added highly to the experience. The game itself was pretty good. We found that for a majority of the puzzles, there was not really a reason for doing it more just doing it, which some of us don’t love. Based on the other rooms we were expecting to find more rooms opening but that didn’t take away from the game. Being a huge group we really enjoyed the non linear aspects of the game because it really allowed all of us to work on different projects and not breathing down each other’s necks!
Time BombCountdown GamesEscape roomIRLPretty good room but a bit quirky with how some of the puzzles worked which took a bit away from it for us. More locks than usual for Countdown too. Overall it’s as good or better than most typical rooms elsewhere but below average compared to others we’ve done at countdown which is still a favorite of ours. The quality of the puzzles far outweighed the quantity but that didn’t make it bad.
Lockbuster Video60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLVery creative room. We wouldn’t say it was too challenging. There were unique aspects to the room which we liked because it was different from the regular escape room themes (prison escape, mafia etc).
Magic Heist60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLVery immersive. There were a lot of things to solve. Being in a larger group, this made the experience better for us because each of us could be working on solving a different clue at the same time. The room was more techy and tasky rather than having a large amount of locks and keys. 90/100
