Reign Of Terror - Closing Nov 2Reign of TerrorHauntHaunted houseIt had been years since I’ve done ROT and DAMN has it improved. It’s awesome. Very scary. The actors know the right place to hide and the perfect time to come out. Some of them talked to you and those were the best. The sets were great. Decor detailed. I wanted to spend time in some rooms admiring it. It was tight with some tight corners/hallways but would eventually lead to a bigger room. It verges on too long. At some point, I was sweating from being scared and tired from the up down adrenaline that I felt finished, but it was right around the time that the maze came to an end. My voice is hoarse from laughing and screaming for 45 mins straight. So much fun.
1986-6-6 [Immersive Experience] - Closing Nov 11986-6-6Escape roomOther I went in completely blind about this experience and I’m not mad about it. It made all the little surprises that much more enjoyable. But, if you’re wanting to know a little more — the best way to describe this would be half immersive experience half escape room. Truly was so silly, fun, chaotic, and funny. Definitely designed to be a nostalgia bomb. In terms of puzzles, if you’re escape room people this will be a walk in the park, but it’s not the point of it. The actors I commend y’all. There was so much going on between monitoring audience members, interacting with whatever audience threw at you, controlling the puzzles and getting narrative out. Everyone handled it with humor and flexibility. What a fun, delightful time. You HAVE to interact with people (actors and fellow audience members alike). So if that’s not your jam, this will be challenging. But I recommend getting outside of yourself and letting go. It’s created for you to have a silly, fun time. The only thing I wished was that there were a few less audience members. It would get to be a lot when moving around at times. However, there are SO many routes you could take, you can come back and do it again and again and again. What a new, creative way to this genre. Excelsior!!
Evil Dead Burn - Closing Nov 2Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseBe prepared to get sprayed! I got out of this maze wet because of the “chainsaw blood spraying”. Water, mind you, not fake blood. She was fun. The masks were a little off. My favorite part was the very beginning when you walk right in with the spinning head. It’s a good time all in all
Killer Klowns From Outer Space [Season 2026] - Closing Nov 2Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseThis one may not be gory, if that’s what people consider scary, but the intimidating part of the maze is the sheer size of the clowns. I felt towered over and that was scary. The humor takes your guard down to then get you with a jump scare. Such a fun maze. One of my favorites.
Ozzy Osborne: Prince of Darkness - Closing Nov 3Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseIt was cool! As someone who’s not a fan of his, the maze was still cool. Great decor. Some nice scares. Was more cool than scary.
Dead Deader Deadest - Closing Nov 3Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseTHIS IS WHY UNIVERSAL HOLLYWOOD SHOULD DO MORE ORIGINAL MAZES. What a gross, weird, scary time. Disturbing in the best way.
Hellraiser - Closing Nov 3Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseLOVED. Definitely scarier than I was expecting but what a blast. The sets are awesome. The costumes are okay, but the scares just keep coming in the end. Can’t wait to go through again.
Sinners - Closing Nov 2Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseLoved this maze. Felt like they wanted you to walk into the movie rather than create a haunted house. Super fun. But brightly lit which was surprising.
Black DragonEscape Room LAEscape roomIRLAbsolutely loved the environment. It was challenging. Not in a “we would have never gotten that if we hadn’t asked for help” way. It was satisfying when we escaped! But the design of the room takes the prize. So thoughtful and detailed.
Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America - Closing Nov 2Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseDefinitely worth it. The monsters are awesome.
Scarecrow - Closing Nov 2Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseOut of all of them, this one was eh. There’s a cool bit in it, but overall I would go when it’s a short line
Delusion: Harrowing of Hell [Season 2025] - CLOSEDDelusionHauntScare zoneNot a review just a heads up for some folks. It’s a very physical show. Lots of running and stairs, etc. Also, it says the length of the experience is an hour and it was closer to 30 minutes.
Five Nights at Freddy's - Closing Nov 2Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseThe animatronics were awesome. If you love the movie/games you’ll enjoy this. Not as scary as some of the others.
The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks - Closing Nov 2Halloween Horror NightsHauntHaunted houseReally cool, but I prefer the mazes that aren’t based on movies exactly. The characters are unique and unexpected. Even if you aren’t a WWE fan, you will have a good time in this.
Operation GryaznayavodaIn Search Of An ExitEscape roomIRLJust go. Stop reading the reviews, book the game now. Okay, if you are still reading, I don’t remember the last room I had that much fun in. Literally from the moment you step into the door, you know you’re in for a good time. I believe our GM was the owner, but he had us in stitches from beginning to end. So welcoming, just delightful. The room is a blast. Unique, quirky, I wish I could take everyone here. I wouldn’t take a massive group because the room would get cramped with a bunch of people in it. We had 4, including a friend who had never played before, and it was a perfect size. I sort of feel bad because his first escape room was so incredible that it’s going to be challenging to find one to the equivalent of this. Go support In Search of an Exit!!!
The LadderHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLMore escape rooms like this please!!! Creative. New. Exciting. Choices. So many choices! Nothing else like this out there. From the design, to the puzzles, to the endings…as in many different endings. Go with a big group. Because there is so much to tackle that you can’t have a small group in here. Just go and have a good time. I can’t wait to go back and discover what other options I can do
Insane AsylumPanIQ Room - West HollywoodEscape roomIRLFun! Nothing particularly novel, but I will say what I like about these rooms is you just start. Theres no real guidance on what to do. They just throw you in, which adds a level of difficulty to the room. With that said it wasn’t challenging, but we had a very fun time playing it. Spooky. Not scary. For escape room experts I would say this is a medium difficulty. I’m very happy we played it. Everyone who was working there was incredibly nice. We didn’t ask for hints, so can’t speak on that level of interaction with the GM. But if they see you struggling they will poke you in the right direction. Also, if you do a room they will offer 30% off to book another room. It’s a cool space to hang out in. Definitely would be a good place to have a big gathering or party. Other note is you have the choice to play a public room or private. Private rooms are at a higher ticket cost. But just be aware when you are booking.
Route 51PanIQ Room - West HollywoodEscape roomIRLVery unique game. For the first couple of puzzles, you have no idea what you’re looking for. They just throw you into it. So, you just have to start messing around. Which I actually really enjoyed. It was more challenging that way. No hand holding at all. If you’re new this might be a hard location to start at. We had fun. It was a silly room, which we had a good time in. There were some cool puzzles hadn’t seen before. Everyone working at the location is incredibly nice. All that said, they do use AI artwork in here. Personally, I find that unacceptable. You’re making money from puzzle making that requires artwork. Pay an artist to make your graphics if you are using it for a puzzle or a video. That immediately turned me off. I know not everyone would care, but knowing there are small escape room companies that do literally everything putting their hearts into making their rooms, it’s frustrating to see use of AI art. Specially when you’re in Los Angeles and there is a plethora of talented people who would be happy to do so.
Wizard's Treasure60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLPerfect room for beginners, families or anyone who likes to do fun light rooms. The design has so much care into it as do the puzzles. We had such a fun time. Becca who was our GM is fantastic. Warm, funny She was so welcoming we immediately booked another room to do. Great time!
