It’s a lot of fun and you’ll be doing a lot of positive head scratching when you move to other areas in the room itself. Our group of 6 managed to escape this room within the allotted time. There was a moment in this room that brought me back to the 80s and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. GM and the game flow were impeccable as well.
S.A.S.H.A: Home Of The FutureWild Goose Escapes - FullertonEscape roomIRLThis game was a lot of fun and very high tech! Our group was about 6 players and all the puzzles flowed very well. It’s a very fun game for those who prefer tech over old locks! You’ll have a lot of A-Ha! moments. I would recommend this room to both beginners and experienced players. You won’t be disappointed!
The HideEscape Room Era - AnaheimEscape roomIRLAs much as horror rooms are concerned, this one is a grand slam home run! If you love scary and terrifying rooms, this is for you. The music is loud, it’s a very scary vibe, there is a live actor and you will be scared. However, the props worked and the only knock I have is that it’s a little too dark in terms of lighting. But then you’re so scared you don’t care. Again, if you love scary rooms, do The Hide. (Watch out for a chair in the corner as you might hit it in the wrong angle and walk funny for a day or two.)
Cold War BunkerWild Goose Escapes - FullertonEscape roomIRLThis was a very fun game to play! There were definitely Gen 1 and Gen 2 vibes. It is a very manageable game with both beginners and experienced players alike! The only knock is that sometimes it can get a little too cramped and you can trip over each other but you’ll get used to it. Overall I recommend this room. Give it a shot!
Grandma's SurpriseTrapped! Escape Room - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLThis was a very fun room until the very end. Sadly we had a broken prop and while the GM noticed it, he kept us going to the point where we became frustrated. Once they decide to fix that room, it’ll be a great Gen 1 room. Despite that last puzzle, everything before it was really fun! I recommend this room.
TombstoneMaze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLThis was a very fun game that made you also think outside the escape room box were all used to! The game flowed great and the props were perfect. It is a very decent Gen 1 room! The only flaw was that it wasn’t as bright as it should’ve been but that’s a very small complaint. Other than that, the room was great as were the GM and atmosphere in general.
13th BasementExit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRLThe owners of this room really knew what they were doing when they created this room to make fun of other escape rooms! I had so much fun during this one. The puzzles were fun, the tech was up to par and the flow worked really well. There’s one moment where you will belly laugh—trust me. I highly recommend this room.
Escobar: Part 1 (The Betrayal)The Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLA great Gen 1 game that is at a must do company! This is definitely an older game but it ages like a fine wine and is the only two story game I’ve done. The props work, there is no live actor and it feels like you’re in an episode of Narcos but without the violence. There is one moment in this room that breaks all the escape room rules but you’re very encouraged to do so. I highly recommend this game.
The Hex RoomCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFor someone who hates horror/spooky rooms, this room was incredibly fun! I thought I would hate it but it converted me to actually like horror rooms. The way in which you play this game is unlike anything I’ve played so make sure you have at least ONE amazing group communicator. The room itself is spooky but not self soiling. The GM was very funny and it’s neat how you become a character in a horror movie!
Dr. Hader’s Cartoon WorldScenario Escape RoomEscape roomIRLSuch a fun room—especially for those of us who grew up in the 90s! It has one of my most favorite puzzles in escape room history and I literally made it a point to tell the GM that DURING the game. You can do this game with 3-4 people and it’s a perfect mix of Gen 1 and Gen 2. Can’t wait to do Mad Rapper!
Stash HouseStash HouseEscape roomIRLDrugs. Hip hop. LA. Escape rooms. It doesn’t get any better, does it? This was a very fun room to play with 5 other experienced players. The room is Gen 1 but is so much fun with the props provided. Plus there’s drugs involved. I highly recommend this room to both beginners and intermediate players alike.
Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLThis is the funnest room that I’ve done in LA so far and yes—we broke the all time record! It’s a very fun room to do with about 4-6 players and you will laugh out loud at some point if you have a sense of humor. There’s a lot of teamwork and communication involved! It’s a lot of fun and I highly recommend this room. Good luck!
Ghost PatrolTrivium GamesEscape roomIRLWhat an incredible game!! It is definitely Top 3 in the Bay Area and would be an interesting debate for #1 next to Attraction and Chaos in the Galleria. This is definitely not a Gen 1 room and is very modern from the story to the props and including game play. You’ll do some very fun modern things! I highly, highly recommend this game.

The story, the puzzles, the game flow, the sheer size of it, and overall design make it the best in the Bay Area. We had a group of over 6 experienced players and we barely escaped…it was THAT good! I wouldn’t recommend this room too much to beginners. At least have some experienced players in there with you because you’ll have TONS to do. But I’m sure you’ll have fun!!
The Apartment Nextdoor - A Dark ExperienceOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLNot withstanding unintended possible #MeToo moments, this room was completely in the dark and so much fun. If you’re scared of the dark, I would stay away. But if you can manage that fear, take a deep breath and let go of it, you’ll have a great time. It’s the perfect room for inappropriate and hilarious comments. We escaped with a group of 5 and I think that’s the sweet spot for most rooms. I highly recommend this room! The complete darkness was really cool.
The Warrior's WayRed Door Escape Room - ConcordEscape roomIRLThis would be the only room that I would tell people to avoid at Red Door. I didn’t enjoy the gameplay and the puzzles were not as fun like in other rooms. The props were fine as was the GM but the puzzles left a lot to be desired. Skip it if you can. It’s not awful but it’s not great either.
The Toy Box - CLOSEDZscape GamesEscape roomIRLThis room was so much fun and had the best escape room puzzle I’ve ever done! I actually screamed in delight (that’s what she said) when I saw it and felt like I was 8 again! It’s definitely a fun Gen 1 game and I would recommend this game if just for that one puzzle! Luckily the entire game is super fun. Enjoy!
The BunkerEscape OaklandEscape roomIRLI’ve played another Bunker room in SoCal but this one in Oakland takes the cake. So far, it’s my favorite bunker themed room. The props worked and didn’t break plus you have to do some out of the box stuff that you really wouldn’t expect! We breezed through the room but that’s because it was so much fun!! I highly recommend this room.
Chapter 2: The HiveThe Bunker ExperienceEscape roomIRLThis room started my obsession in January 27, 2018. Starting with the non-room portion: booking and waivers were easy and there’s a parking garage basically next to this room. The GM was amazingly nice and super attentive! The game itself made me fall in love with escape rooms. It was here where I unlocked my first lock and knew I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. The story is great and there’s a fun live actor in the room. The puzzles flowed and the props were not broken. There is some suspense but nothing over the top to where you want to soil yourself. I highly recommend this room.
Atlantis RisingPanIQ Room - San JoseEscape roomIRLAdd this review to the long list of Do Not Recommend’s. This room is atrocious. The props broke and/or didn’t work and one of group members wanted to physically assault the room because it was that bad. It’s sad because Wild West is such a fun room. It’s like Paniq wanted to create a terrible room so they took Wild West and asked themselves, “how can we make a room that completely sucks?” The answer is Atlantis. Avoid at all costs. RUN!
