Super surprised that Soul Escape does not have more attention and reviews on the platform because this game was amazing! Story was clean and intriguing, actors were incredible and puzzles were engaging and challenging! The scare factor of this room is pretty high given that there are live actors and a low light level throughout the experience. This is also a place where if an actor “catches you” you are out of the game, so do be ready to run when the time comes…and it will. Will have to make another trip out here whenever I am back in town!
Two Can Keep a SecretThink Escape Games - Orlando [prev. Escape Hatch Orlando]Escape roomIRLAn old friend was back in town and we knew we had to make a run for a game or two. It has been a few years since we made our way back to Hatch but we were very happy to see Two Can Keep A Secret holds up to the quality and fun of some of the other experiences in the building. Puzzle flow was seamless for the most part and the only hiccups we had were our rusty brains getting in the way! Spooks here were a good but of fun too! If you happen to be in the area definelty check this one out!
Santa’s Christmas List CaperThink Escape Games - Orlando [prev. Escape Hatch Orlando]Escape roomIRLFor our second game at Think we had another fun time with this pop up experience based in Exit. Plenty of puzzles of easy difficulty make up this experience but some do have a “sweet” outcome which was welcomed. Once again all things went super smooth up until the brain rust caught us in little things. We also really liked how some of the puzzles had a little more critical thinking even for the pop up. Definitely make your way over for a jolly good time in Christmas List Caper!
Downfall of the DonWill To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLMaking my return to Will after so long and with a decent experience was a breathe of fresh air. Being a nonlinear experience for the first room of the game it flowed very well and we were able to quickly pick up what was going on from puzzle to puzzle. The second section of the game is where we began to have some trouble. Some puzzles were not fully clued in or not clear at all. But not to say we didn’t manage to have a fun time in this experience! Compared to the original games at this venue I would definitely recommend this one for a quick and fun outing!
Save The Fleet - CLOSEDEscape UEscape roomIRLBack for a second round at Escape U and Save the Fleet still held up to the experience of Sneaky Snake! While on the easier side of difficulty the game itself was super fun and homely made by our resident mean ghost that constantly heckled us and kept us laughing through the whole adventure! Puzzles and flow was good and the only hiccups we had were purely on our end. We loved our second round here and look forward to coming back to make a great jail escape! :)
Follow The White RabbitMastermind MonastirakiEscape roomIRLCame to Athens for vacation and I couldn’t leave without giving the infamous industry here a try!! Following the White Rabbit down the hole I had no clue what to expect for it being my first game internationally but from my entrance into the building to the time I left I can happily say the Athenian escape room market is one I NEED to tap into. Puzzle flow went perfect and the linear play did work well into the story of this experience. I also really enjoyed how our live actor made the experience just that much better! The balance of her staying in character but also acting as the clue giver was excellent! Overall we had an awesome time playing and really enjoyed the little things here with Mastermind! Will certainly be back for more whenever I get the chance :)
Temple Of The SkullGame Over Escape Rooms - OrlandoEscape roomIRLA second trip back to Game Over Orlando left a similar taste in the mouth that Orphanage did some time ago. Puzzle play was fun and relatively simple in most cases! The only major struggles we had was being able to see well in the relatively large room with one torch as well as having a hard time describing overly complex shapes to each other. While the set itself beautiful the room itself did not really utilize space well leaving at least 40% empty with just wall and no other decor. Overall we did manage to have a fun time here with some unique puzzles and some fun laughs, definitely give it a try if you are in the area :)
The WoodsA Harrowing Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLMade the way back to Harrowing to wrap up time there before the next experience releases! This experience was one that did leave me wishing a little more was done with it. Puzzle play itself was not hard but there were many times that we were left to just insinuate where things were or needed a very clear clue as to where to look for things that we missed. This is a black light HEAVY experience so make sure to use it often! Set was standard for the location and was good and dandy for what to expect! If you are diligent in your searching for items and using that black light this should be a quick and easy experience for most players :)
Strange MagicMind MastersEscape roomIRLFinally made our way over to Clermont to give this one room experience a try and we enjoyed our time! The tech that the room used to make the magical was some that I had yet to see in many rooms and it left me wanting to see more of it! Despite the tech being new and interesting it also was different enough to be our major slowdown in terms of flow. Though after a few friendly hints we caught on that we need to start thinking a little more “magically” The tech in this room also makes up for the one room experience that was a little lacking in set and story. Overall though we had a great time and will patiently wait for a new experience from the team at Mind Masters :)
The Sneaky Snake LoungeEscape UEscape roomIRLWe have always enjoyed games that have incorporated live actors and The Sneaky Snake Lounge is one that does it very well! The story here was basic and straightforward but also had that hint of fun that (supported by the actor) was refreshing to be apart of. This game also had a smooth flow from space to space and puzzle to puzzle which is always welcome. The only hiccups we had were certainly on our end and by no means detrimental! One thing about live actors is the scaling of how they interact with you. They will ask if you would be interested in the PG, PG13 or R! We went with the middle ground and it was very fun for our group and definitely made the experience that much better (Thank you Grace)! Overall we had an awesome time breaking into the 1920’s Lounge will certainly be making another stop to St. Augustine when we can :)
Disturbance in ElmwoodDaytona Escape Room ExperienceEscape roomIRLMaking a quick round to Daytona we stumbled into investigating Elmwood! For this company’s hardest experience and one of the longer ones we had a fun time working together! This does include a initial split start but was easy to navigate up until the end of the section where solutions became a bit unclear for us. Although after those initial jitters the game ran relatively smoothly with simpler puzzles with slight complications. One of the things that got us going was realizing that when we thought we were surely done there was in fact more to do! But thankfully it all played just fine and we made it out without being the next missing persons in Elmwood! If you are in the area definitely give this one a try!
The ExhibitDaytona Escape Room ExperienceEscape roomIRLOn our second go around in Daytona we were tasked to steal some valuable artifacts from the Exhibit! We had a fun time in here even though it was a much smaller and easier game in comparison to some of their other experiences. There was plenty to do and it easily flowed from one puzzle to the next. Although this is certainly a game for those who may not have a lot of experience in the escape room field as well as meaning to play as couples or a group of three given the size. With that though we had a great time and will look to return when we can for some more fun up in Daytona :)
7 Deadly SinsEscapology - KissimmeeEscape roomIRLGoing into this experience I had some hope that it would be a funner twist on a relatively standard horror theme. For the most part I’d say it was decent but this was a hard like for me. With some hit or miss puzzles we often found ourselves a little frustrated with the minimal information we had to with. The story itself sets itself to have the room be solved by diving into the “7 Deadly Sins” but the only real spiritual thing you get into is using Zodiac’s. Therefore I was left a little disappointed there. Although overall we managed to have a little fun here and some things just didn’t click with us but if you are willing def give it a try! :)
Batman™: The Dark Knight ChallengeEscapology - KissimmeeEscape roomIRLSurprisingly we had a good amount of fun here solving some mysteries for the caped crusader! Compared to some other IP rooms that Escapology has this one felt a bit more put together and fun. Some cool puzzles surrounded by some decent set atmosphere made it a fun game to just have fun in! We had our moments getting stuck as usual but just look out for the details and you should be just dandy! :)
A Fisherman’s Tale - CLOSEDThe Escape Ventures - Winter Garden [prev. Escape Goat]Escape roomIRLFor our long awaited last round at Escape Goat we had a delightful time getting our treasure hunting skills honed. While certainly being the easiest in the Goat lineup it did offer some unique challenges and perspectives to standard puzzles that I really enjoyed! Set was well rounded and had tons of cool knik knacks that made the space feel much like its setting. The only off thing for me was the story and how some things present in the room were tied together. But by no means did that detract from the fun time we had here! If you are looking for a fishy time (not in smell thankfully) then Fisherman’s Tale is a great option :))
Wagon Train: End of Outlaws' Reign - CLOSEDLocksmith Escape GamesEscape roomIRLAnother delightful run with the team at Locksmiths! This long awaited and newest gunslinging tale is one we had a bunch of fun with some fun Easter eggs that kept my grin wide all throughout the experience. With it being another collaboration game with the Ventures crew I had no worry that they would continue to keep up with their reputation of great puzzle play and scenic design thar never disappoints! This is also another great family friendly game with a lot of interactive puzzles and movement for the little ones! So if you are in the area and looking for hootin and hollering good time getting the bandits out of town stop by Wagon Train :)
At Odds With The GodsThe Escape EffectEscape roomIRLOur last stop at Escape Effect was one that did not blow us as way still offered a good time. Great game for those well versed in Greek Mythology (but by no means is it needed to complete the game)! For a 90 minute experience there is actually not too many puzzles but the ones that are there definitely can fill the time. We were warned that there was a lot of math here…there was a good portion of it but mostly simple so no need to fret there :) The set of the game was solid! There was a decent use of space and the theme carried from room to room. Our biggest problem with this room was certain puzzles for a variety of reasons ranging from materials used to solve the puzzle, clarity of solutions and busy work. Though apart from those few we found the game flowed pretty well and would definitely work well with a group of three to four players. Overall a decent trip to round out our time with Escape Effect! Off to the next one :)
The OrphanageGame Over Escape Rooms - OrlandoEscape roomIRLFor our first round with Game Over in the Orlando market we felt it was definitely not great but also not totally terrible. While being the one of the supposed hardest rooms they have we found that was really only referring to two puzzles that were overly busy work with little direction. We also had to ask GM for a very specially clue and were given the wrong info for awhile before they corrected themselves. Overall didn’t slow us down too much but still was not ideal for us. Spooks here are barely psychological and very rarely physical so don’t feel like this isn’t a family friendly game in that way :) Apart from those the set itself was decent for a big box game though it did lack in the detail. One thing that we had a really hard time with was the completion of the story. We felt it was clear what we were doing in the beginning but did not get any real conclusion to what we did. Overall though we liked it but wouldn’t recommend it as a must try. Will be back to try some more though :)
Bank HeistLockbustersEscape roomIRLOur last stop at LockBusters for now was no disappointment! Bank Heist while being their hardest experience really proved to be so in the amount of things to do along with a select few puzzles. While we played with only two we came to understand why four people is suggested in order to make things flow a little quicker throughout the game. Overall though the puzzles themselves were the normal LockBuster still that we had become used to. This game is one that the enthusiasts will be a test to how quickly you can work and for newer players a jump into a more critical thinking style of gameplay. While we had some trouble with some puzzles the big confusion we had was the story, part to us not totally paying attention (yes that’s our bad) but when we kept going through the room there was a twist that was very cool but wish was explained a little better. Overall though we had a good time breaking into and out of Market Street Bank without a trace and in the nic of time :)
Cinema 7Will To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLAnother original and delightful addition to the Will to Escape portfolio! Cinema 7 still has the creator’s escape room passion project aspect that we loved to see in their first creation Disappearance! For older experienced players there are the nods to fun games they may have played before and for newer players puzzles are approachable and easy to follow from start to finish! A step up that we liked was how interactive the game was with how it physically got you moving from space to space but also puzzle to puzzle. Story of this theater was also clear and easily followed from end to end which added to the general suspense of the experience! The spooks were also good and while not heavy in the jumpscare realm, the ambiance and the beautiful set delivers enough to make you feel uneasy as you should in an old abandoned theater like Cinema 7! Overall we had a lovely time solving and watching the sinister history of old Cinema 7 from start to finish. Excited to see where the creators go next!
