KappaExode QuébecEscape roomIRLThe room is designed for four people, which is the perfect number since you have to go back and forth a lot and move around quite a bit. The atmosphere could use a bit more of a girly vibe and some mystery, but a determined group and a good DJ make that irrelevant. I highly recommend it!
Marcheurs de rêves [The Dreamwalkers]Cabinet MysteriisEscape roomIRLCurrently in my top 3 escape rooms in Quebec City. The decor is absolutely stunning, with transitions that left us saying “Wow!” time and time again. The puzzles are incredibly creative and very well thought out. Our game master, Aja, was a sweetheart and played along even when we were talking nonsense ;) The only downside was that we had a technical glitch that halted our progress for a little while, and the game master had to step in to manually reset it. But hey, these things happen 10/10 for Marcheurs de Rêves!
Ferrailles hurlantes [Screaming Metal]Cabinet MysteriisEscape roomIRLAn incredible Mad Max vibe from start to finish! I went with my dad—it was his first escape room—and we managed to make it out just in the nick of time. While the very first puzzle is pretty complex and really makes you rack your brain, the rest flows more smoothly. The Game Master was very friendly, played his role well, and helped us a lot. I recommend playing this with two people if you’re experienced, or with three if you’re in a more casual group.
Mor DrakkarSOS Aventures - Quebec CityEscape roomIRLA warm welcome from the SOS Aventure team! Mor Drakkar is (for LARP fans like us) a wonderful surprise! The medieval atmosphere is lovely, and the puzzles are simple but very well put together. If you’re a fairly experienced group, you’ll have no trouble finishing the room, but we went there for the atmosphere—and we were not disappointed!
Le Secret des Dunes [The Secret of the Dunes]A Double Tour Immersive ExperiencesEscape roomIRLMy favorite room at ADT. The atmosphere is incredible, with stunning decor (true to ADT’s style), all enhanced by our game master, who’s always fully immersed in their role. The puzzles make sense and are just the right level of difficulty. The transitions between rooms are brilliant, and there’s a lot to explore in a room that’s actually quite small. I highly recommend Dunes!!!
2002: L'Odyssée Bovine [2002: A Bovine Odyssey]Cabinet MysteriisEscape roomIRLThe decor was worthy of Mysteriis, though there were fewer rooms than I expected. The puzzles were good, but the game master talked to us a lot (a little too much), and we had a hard time understanding what he was saying (volume too low, sound effects, etc.). There were five of us—the maximum number of players allowed—which is too many for this room. I recommend a maximum of three; some of us were twiddling our thumbs. Great atmosphere and a game we enjoyed!
Propagande [Propaganda]Exode QuébecEscape roomIRLA really fun room designed for two people. We weren't overwhelmed, so it's the perfect number of players. The room's design is simple but effective. There are still plenty of puzzles, so we never got bored!
Le Bar Clandestin [The Clandestine Bar]Sauve Qui Peut - QuébecEscape roomIRLA room I’d heard good things about. The decor was pretty minimal (typical for SqP) but it really hit the spot. One game master seemed bored with welcoming us, and another sounded almost depressed over the walkie-talkie. Not very professional… The puzzles are really fun, and the smooth transitions between rooms make them even better. I recommend it, but keep in mind that there’s some VERY explicit content…
Game OverDéfi-Évasion - QuebecEscape roomIRLThe game itself is pretty good, with nice visuals and interesting puzzles. However, one of the puzzles requires you to examine environmental images… images that were clearly generated by AI… I can’t give it a good rating because of that.
Le Chant des Naufragés [The Call of the Stranded]SOS Aventures - Quebec CityEscape roomIRLI was really looking forward to trying out the new SOS escape room. The three of us played it together. The decor is really nice (coming from someone who’s been to an older room). However, there were a lot of technical issues that threw us off. There were plenty of puzzles, and they fit the story perfectly. The story itself is simple but enjoyable to follow.
