Villains VendettaExodus Escape Room - Rancho CucamongaEscape roomIRLThis was the funnest room we have done in a long while! Small space but lots to do for two people. Ideal group size 2-4 just based on the room area. Baby and kid-friendly. Cute theme and outstanding variety of puzzles that were refreshingly logical and sensical. Largely gen 1 locks with a few tech elements. Our game master Alyse was fantastic. This room was so unexpectedly satisfying!
Mansion MurderEscapology - NorthridgeEscape roomIRLWe have done most of the rooms at Escapology. We find the rooms at Escapology tend to have higher value set design and atmosphere but the puzzles themselves are lackluster and not very stimulating for escape room enthusiasts. Mansion Murder is on of the better ones in terms of puzzles.
Escobar: Part 2 (The Final Hour)The Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLWe have done close to 250 escape rooms. This is the only negative experience we have ever had with a staff member at an escape room. We would have loved to play the room but we were refused entry and they refuse to give refunds under any circumstances. We won’t be back.
Chernobyl Disaster: Moments AfterThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLWe played this room soon after it opened, so hopefully it has been improved and refined since. We were excited to try it based off of Escobar 1 and the Prison Break room but we did not enjoy Chernobyl at all. The environment was dirty, drab and depressing. The puzzles were dull, unintuitive, not very clever and lacked engagement and flow. It’s an ugly Cold War bunker providing very minimal decor/props to interact with and lousy game play. I personally hated climbing up and down the metal grate stairs and flooring. If you are playing with a group, be warned if you are planning to wear a skirt or dress.
The Key of DestinyBoggled Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe played this room twice- once soon after opening and again in August 2024- and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. There were a few changes in between. The game is quite unique in that it has entirely mechanical puzzles and really leaves you appreciating the creativity and craftsmanship that went into building the set and puzzles. Plenty to do for two people and enough space for teams of four or more, also family and baby friendly. We can’t wait to play the two new rooms opening soon.
The Silence 113th RoomEscape roomIRLScary. The actor was excellent and crucial to the excitement of this room. The puzzles were so-so; the adrenaline factor created was what made this room exceptional.
DollhouseChronos Escape RoomEscape roomIRLIt was okay. A tad scary. Puzzles were underwhelming. We preferred several other Chronos rooms over this.
Christmas: Help Wanted - CLOSEDLocked AdventuresEscape roomIRLBreaking Point has been one of our favorite escape room establishments. All of their rooms are so well done! Christmas: Help Wanted was fun and thoughtfully designed.
ExcaliburMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLLovely set design, on theme from floor to ceiling. From the moment we walked in the sound and feel of creaking floorboards and flickering candlelight set the scene. Fairly straightforward puzzles and not loads of tasks to complete but had a couple puzzles with cleverly subtle use of the environment that we hadn’t encountered before. This room seems suitable for all group sizes and experience levels.
Conspiracy Of Tia Canyons CorpMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLWe thoroughly enjoyed this room. The attention to detail in the set design was impressive, on par with all the MindTrap games we played. I felt like we were really underground in a spy bunker. Satisfying volume and variety of puzzles.
The MenagerieTrapped! Escape Room - UplandEscape roomIRLThoroughly enjoyed this room. Great volume and variety of mostly non-linear puzzles- riddles, mechanical, intuitive, some requiring *very* close attention to detail, some really creative and quite challenging. We were lagging with two players but our GM was awesome and helped us finish. Given the non-linear arrangement and some multi-step puzzles, would likely be fun and engaging for even larger groups.
Zombie v.2 - CLOSEDEscape Hotel HollywoodEscape roomIRLWent in not expecting much based on the ratings, but we thoroughly enjoyed this room. Similar production value to all the Escape Hotel rooms- dark, spooky, generous puzzle volume with some satisfying intuitive puzzles. We found the difficulty level comparable to Resurrection, but less challenging than the Attic or Haunted Fair. Appreciated the way in which the medical theme was incorporated- having a medical background might speed up progression through one puzzle in particular.
13th BasementExit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRLCleverly thought out room and loads of fun especially for those who do a lot of escape rooms. The theme is satirical and self aware, taking the piss at common escape room tropes. Nice diversity in the puzzle mix and every puzzle was sensical and satisfying. Our GM Jeremiah was very attentive and explained everything thoroughly in the intro and debrief. Seems like a “must-do” rooms for enthusiasts.
Zoe - CLOSEDEscapade GamesEscape roomIRLThis may be the most scared we have ever been in an escape room! A+ for atmosphere. Not an intellectually difficult or puzzle-heavy room, but so worth doing for any experience level or group size based on the scare/adrenaline/fun factor.
Chapter 1: The BunkerThe Bunker ExperienceEscape roomIRLThis may be the worst room we ever played. The first time we booked at this location, on arrival we were informed they had double booked our room and turned us away with a refund. There is no reception or waiting area so when we arrived we called (they never answer so send a text instead) then waited outside for 20 minutes. Both instances as we waited large groups of children came and went, and I imagine that is the demographic most likely to enjoy the Bunker. The immersion starts from the moment they allow you through the door in the most pretentious way. The inclusion of an actor was distracting and not at all additive to the experience. The clues were repetitive and not very helpful, eg clue 1: “there must be something else on that page to give you the code”, clue 2: “can you find anything else on the page to give you the code?”, clue 3: “we know the code is on the page, so there must be SOMETHING else there”. The worst aspect though was the puzzles. Loose, lazy, nonsensical, illogical, exasperating associations. This room was difficult, but for all the wrong reasons. A fine way for parents to offload their kids on a post-apocalyptic babysitter for an hour. Not recommended for enthusiasts.
One Eyed JackTrapped! Escape Room - Las VegasEscape roomIRLLogical puzzles and one exceptionally creative and fun task involved in breaking out of the initial room.
Alice's DreamMind Twist Escape ExperienceEscape roomIRLSolid Alice In Wonderland themed room with a nice variety of logical puzzles and riddles.
The Bridge BetweenQuest TavernEscape roomIRLAbsolutely adored The Bridge Between. One of my top five. This room is a puzzler-lover’s epic dream. SO MANY PUZZLES. At the start, the sheer number of tasks seemed overwhelming and intimidating for our group of two. It required a diligent mix of independent puzzle solving and teamwork as many of the puzzles were layered and overlapping. The emergence from this room was beautiful and magical, a true fairy tale ending. A must-do for enthusiasts.
Corkscrewed101 Escapes - Westlake VillageEscape roomIRLAn interesting idea for the story but a couple of the puzzles seemed poorly thought out or lazy, and left us asking “what?”. One of the few rooms from which we actually couldn’t wait to escape.
S.A.S.H.A: Home Of The FutureWild Goose Escapes - FullertonEscape roomIRLLoved the concept of technology gone naughty. Cleanly-finished room with unique code entry system. Logical and mostly non-linear puzzles. Low difficulty but very enjoyable game play. Would be fun for newer players or a couple of veterans.
