The Adventurers' Guild - Chapter One: A Rocky BeginningEscape SquadEscape roomIRLWas really excited for this one but unfortunately was let down a bit. There were multiple puzzles where you had to say what you are doing out loud for the games master to tick the puzzle off. The puzzles also had very little flow with a bunch of props that could be moved around but weren’t useful for anything. Another bummer is it is red herring central. Turns out the reason for that is that adventurers guild part 2 uses the same room and just uses different puzzle around the room. It honestly makes it feel like you’re only playing half a room when you have other puzzles on the wall staring you in the face that don’t do anything and it isn’t made clear what puzzles are for chapter 1 and which are for chapter 2. The set dressing was okay not the best I’ve seen but not the worst and our games master who took us in was very kind and tried to give us clues in theme which was appreciated. Otherwise I would still give this one a miss. Nuclear express and Schools out are much better options
The PursuitTime's Up Escape Rooms PerthEscape roomIRLThe core of this room was actually pretty good and the puzzles weren’t bad and overall enjoyable. I think this room is mostly let down by the lack of ambience once the door is closed after your intro it’s just silence. There was also a lot of exposed wires and power points. Thankfully I’ve done a fair share of escape rooms and know not to touch them but I’m sure some other players may just pull the plugs out thinking it’s a puzzle. This reminds me of a very old style escape room which doesn’t mean it’s bad it just feels dated in comparison to some of the others I’ve done. I think some TLC is needed and it could be a lot better but for now it’s still good and still an enjoyable experience especially for the only $40 price tag

High NoonEscape This - Perth CBD, Hay Street MallEscape roomIRLSuch a fan of a Wild West style room and this room does not disappoint with really interesting puzzles and gorgeous set design I really felt like I had been chucked into an old jail cell. Also the music was exactly what you’d expect from a western which was really cool. They even have a real safe in the room! Highly recommend this is definitely one of my favourites
The DunnyEscape This - Perth CBD, Hay Street MallEscape roomIRLWell this was an experience I don’t think I could really get anywhere else. An Australian outback outhouse escape!! The idea is awesome and the execution was flawless with so many nods to Australian culture it was fantastic. Not to mention the puzzles were so much fun and I spent the whole experience grinning ear to ear. Also there’s some light horror elements so you may even get a little scare!
The Chaos EngineRealmz Escape GameEscape roomIRLThis room was very clever and enjoyable. I’m a big steam punk fan and this scratched that itch big time. There were some really clever puzzles and the story was fun. Highly recommend this room if your looking for a slightly easier challenge with some great set dressing
The Legend of Captain NemoEscape This - Perth CBD, Hay Street MallEscape roomIRLVery unique atmosphere! Being trapped in a submarine feels surreal. The puzzles are a lot of fun and there’s a lot of skill puzzles as well as logic puzzles in this one which I thought was really cool! The end is also so much fun I don’t want to spoil anything but you will be sweating by the end!
Zenith Prime - CLOSEDRealmz Escape GameEscape roomIRLReally cool space themed room which I don’t think anywhere else does a space theme in Perth so credit where credit is due for that. The room was clever and had some very cool tech included. There is a control panel type thing that you need to interact with a lot which can get a little tedious but definitely not a deal breaker. Still a great time and a great room I highly recommend

Believe me as soon as you walk in look up I could almost sleep in that room haha. The puzzles were quite clever with some unique ones i haven’t seen before. It was more challenging than I expected but I still had a lot of fun.

It’s quite different than your average escape room with limited exploration and just a briefcase and some documents. Was still cool and will try more things like this again
Pirate IslandEscape This - Perth, NorthbridgeEscape roomIRLWas a very cool experience and I’m also a pirate fan. This one gave me Goonies vibes as well which made me very happy. I thought the puzzles were clever and what started out easy does get quite challenging closer to the end. This room does make you feel like a pirate though as near the end the room kind of sends you and a scavenger hunt type deal. Had a lot of fun and will return
DraculaEscape This - Perth, NorthbridgeEscape roomIRLWell the challenge is real with this one. We were warned before entering about the difficulty and they did not lie haha. It was very challenging and we needed a lot of help although we still had a great time. There are some really cool puzzles in play here and I think the atmosphere is great.
MeltdownUltimate RoomscapeEscape roomIRLThis room was very cool with some really interesting puzzles that I haven’t really seen elsewhere. I do however think the difficulty needs to be updated. It currently ranked as a 3/5 but it is very challenging. I went just with my partner and we needed a lot of help and a bit of extra time to escape. Which we appreciate thank you to our gm Brody for that. Otherwise though the room is great and very well thought out. There are a few colour puzzles so if your colour blind make sure you have someone in your team that isn’t. Overall I think this room is very high quality and a great room I think it just needs to be advertised as a little more difficult.
Train of the DeadRealmz Escape GameEscape roomIRLThis room was interesting. I overall enjoyed it but wasn’t as blown away like I was with realmz other escape rooms. It had some clever puzzles but a lot of them were based around a computer terminal which I didn’t love. Overall though the vibe was kind of cool and some scary zombie noises got the blood pumping. The room is also pretty tricky so make sure to bring you A game. Overall still a good room and worth doing but maybe do the other rooms first and work your way up.
Challenge RoomsHijinx Hotel - KarrinyupEscape roomOther Very different experience and a very fun one at that. This is not an escape room but any means but it doesn’t have a few puzzle elements in a few of the room but most of them are more physical challenge which are honestly so much fun. I will admit though after doing all 10 or so rooms I was exhausted. Lucky for me the bar is available after you play. It was great fun and I recommend it to anyone
Mental Perception - CLOSEDUltimate RoomscapeEscape roomIRLThis room was cleverly designed and executed with one puzzle that really brought the experience down. I’m not going to spoil it but there’s a skill puzzle not too far into the game that I think if you had 3+ players wouldn’t be too bad but with only 2 players was insanely tricky. Not sure if we’re maybe just a bit unco or if it’s meant to be done by more players but we spent 30 minutes alone on that puzzle and I ended up asking a GM to please just come in and help us (which she did so thank you). The rest of the room was pretty good though and I think they could sense our frustration so they gave us some extra time which was appreciated. Overall not my favourite experience at ultimate Roomscape but still worth doing.

The Mummy 2Realmz Escape GameEscape roomIRLThis was my first ever escape room and it was awesome! I recently went back to revisit it as a gm mentioned there had been changed to the room since when I played it last. I gladly stepped back into the world of the mummy 2 and it was great! I do admit that there was one puzzle I actually missed from the way it was before. You used to have a jar with a blue light in the eyes and that would show you secret hieroglyphics which has now just been replaced by photos. The floor puzzle though is awesome! I don’t wanna spoil anything but it’s truly awesome

The puzzles are a perfect level of challenge for more experienced escapees. I don’t have a single negative for this experience. If you’re looking for a great room that will give you a fright this is one of them
