La Cathédrale Oubliée [The Forgotten Cathedral]
Escaparium Laval
Escape room
IRL
Quite possibly my favorite escape room experience. There are mind blowing aspects here that you will not see anywhere else, and I cannot recommend it more highly. Just go. That’s it!
L'Île perdue de la Reine Vaudou [The Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen]
Escaparium Laval
Escape room
IRL
This room has some very impressive set pieces and fun puzzles throughout. A few unique ones that I’ve never seen before. I really loved how it’s not completely linear, so several puzzles can be worked on at the same time, which is always a big plus for me. Overall, it’s an impressive experience with loads of tiny details that really set an immersive tone.
Lab Rat
Hatch Escapes
Escape room
IRL
Lab Rat has a unique premise with great immersion, clever puzzles and mechanisms, and lots of twists and turns. One of my all time favorite rooms with several highly satisfying events.
Hope End
The Ministry Of Peculiarities
Escape room
IRL
A fully immersive experience from beginning to end. Not overly difficult, but challenging enough. Delightful clue system. Great story, one of my favorite rooms!
Armoire a Vendre [Wardrobe for Sale]
Escaparium Laval
Escape room
IRL
From such an unassuming name for a room, this was an experience that’s just hard to describe (but definitely in a good way!). I will say, it was a delightful adventure with some things I did not think were possible in an escape room. And the clue system was so fun that it made me want to ask for clues I didn’t even need lol.
Projet R.E.S.E.T.
Immersia Escape Games
Escape room
IRL
First off, just go play this room! Parts of this one made me question how things were even done, like when you see a great magic trick. The story and set are also really solid. The puzzles are very fun and flow well. It’s a completely unique experience that I cannot recommend more highly.
The Last Supper
Quest Tavern
Escape room
IRL
This is a pretty unique room with plenty of room for showing your personality, in addition to being a great room! Great set design, fun puzzles, and some high adrenaline moments. Diego as our Lord Garrick was at the top of his game, and big ups to all the staff for going above and beyond to accommodate our group. I can see why this room has won awards!
Chapter One: Occam's Apartment
Evil Genius Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
This was my first room and it made me fall in love with escape rooms! So immersive, and so sad this location is closed. You could do all 3 episodic rooms back to back.
La Forêt De Falderon [Falderon Forest]
Sauve Qui Peut
Escape room
IRL
I am a big fan of rooms where each player has a specific role to play, and it’s done very well here. I also love a room that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and this one definitely does not. Add to it a very unique clue system, and you’ve got a very fun room.
The Bridge Between
Quest Tavern
Escape room
IRL
There are some dazzling aspects of this room. But overall, this is a very puzzle heavy room, which I don’t mind. But when the room is puzzle heavy, I expect them to at least flow well, and that was not my experience here. In addition, I think more care could have been taken to have set pieces that match the time period of the room to help with immersion. Third, there is a dexterity puzzle that happens at the most inopportune time possible. Finally, our GM answered a clue request by having us work on something that wasn’t ready to be solved yet, which cost us a bit of time and soured me on the clue system.
