Cornstalkers: Lost in the MaizeThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLCornstalkers: Lost in the Maize offers an incredibly enjoyable and unique take on the traditional escape room format. While there is a noticeably lower density of traditional puzzle-solving compared to highly mechanical rooms like Operation Arctic Storm, this shift in focus does not detract from the overall quality. Instead, the mechanics and pacing are heavily driven by a cohesive narrative and the dynamic presence of an in-room actor who accompanies you throughout the journey. The true highlight of this room is the interactive theatricality. The experience shines when the team leans into the scenario and actively matches the charisma of the host. We thoroughly enjoyed playing the part, resulting in plenty of laughs before the environment effectively transitioned into a spookier, more suspenseful tone. The set design maintains a high standard of immersion, making it easy to buy into the world. All in all, this is a highly recommended room—just be sure to go in with an open mind and a willingness to role-play to maximize the fun of participating in the story.
Sweethearts Ice Cream ParlourThe Cool SpaceEscape roomIRLOur team of four thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The non-linear game design provided excellent opportunities to 'divide and conquer,' allowing us to swap tasks whenever we needed a fresh perspective. The volume of puzzles was perfectly balanced—substantial enough to keep everyone busy without feeling overwhelming. We particularly appreciated the thematic signposting; everything was so logically tied to its specific challenge that we never felt confused about which elements paired together. With high-quality audio-visual effects and a surprising 'treat' of a finale, this is a must-play.
Haunted HarborThe Escape Ventures - Winter Garden [prev. Escape Goat]Escape roomIRLHaunted Harbor is yet another great room from The Escape Ventures, solidifying their reputation for high-quality set design and engaging gameplay. The room features a very high puzzle density, making it an excellent choice for groups who want a smorgasbord of challenges to work through within the allotted time. We admittedly got tripped up on the most obvious puzzle right at the beginning, but once we found our rhythm, our coordinated team communication kicked in and we navigated the mechanical flow of the room extremely well. We did require a few hints along the way, but the puzzle logic was always sound and made perfect sense once revealed. The only minor drawback occurred right at the start of the experience. The ambient music in the foyer, where the game officially begins, was a bit too loud. This made it slightly difficult to hear the introduction and detracted just a bit from the initial immersion into the theme. However, this was a very minor issue in the grand scheme of the otherwise fantastic gameplay within the room itself.
Operation Arctic Storm: The Final MeltdownThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLOperation Arctic Storm: The Final Meltdown stands as the best escape room I have experienced to date. The set design establishes a highly immersive arctic environment, providing a realistic and engaging thematic foundation. Rather than relying on digital components, the room excels through cleverly designed mechanical puzzles and tactile props that tie directly into the setting. The gameplay offers a smorgasbord of different puzzle types, requiring a mix of light physical activity and strategic focus to navigate. While teamwork is necessary to progress, the communication required is straightforward and manageable, allowing players to fully appreciate the complexity of the tasks at hand. It is a well-constructed, highly recommended room that seamlessly blends environmental immersion with a diverse range of physical and mechanical challenges.
Crazy Train: The Ballad of Skeemin' PlotzDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis room delivers a fantastic theme supported by highly relevant props and displays that maintain immersion from start to finish. The high-quality set design and mechanical flow keep the environment engaging, making it easy to buy into the quirky, adventurous storyline throughout the entire journey. However, there was one notable bottleneck in the gameplay. A specific directional tracing puzzle proved quite frustrating; the lighting in that area made the elements difficult to see, and the logic required to trace out the correct path felt unintuitive. This lack of clear signposting caused a significant stall, costing us about 10 minutes on that single problem and disrupting the otherwise solid momentum of the room. Additionally, while tackling rooms with a smaller group is often preferred for tight, coordinated team communication, this particular game truly demands more hands on deck. The multi-step sequence in the finale is incredibly busy and can easily become overwhelming for a duo. An ideal group size is a minimum of 4 players to properly manage the final tasks, divide the workload, and ensure the team can fully enjoy the frantic conclusion without feeling bogged down.
Cinema 7Will To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThis room delivers an enjoyable theme filled with older-looking props that establish a nicely immersive, spooky atmosphere without relying on any live actors. The tactile nature of these vintage props perfectly satisfies a preference for deeply immersive themes and solid mechanical designs over flashy high-tech screens. When it comes to gameplay, the puzzle flow is incredibly logical. In fact, our group found it to be exceptionally straightforward and we finished without any trouble, earning it an "Easy" rating. Having played a significant number of escape rooms across Orlando, many of the puzzle mechanics here felt quite familiar; we generally had a clear idea of what we were looking for right from the start. On a highly positive note, the room's maintenance is excellent, nothing was broken or malfunctioning to stall our momentum. Unfortunately, the ending felt a bit anti-climactic. Given the spooky build-up throughout the game, we were hoping the final sequence of puzzles would lead to a genuinely scary or intense conclusion. The finale could be significantly improved with a faster pace, intense sound effect audios, or spooky colored lighting to elevate the tension and deliver a more thrilling, satisfying payoff.
Bros for Life: Fraternity HeistThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLBros for Life: Fraternity Heist is another great room by The Escape Ventures and stands as a highly recommended experience. The high-quality set design establishes a thoroughly immersive and convincing frat house environment right from the start. The gameplay relies on excellent mechanical flow, featuring tactile puzzles that frequently require coordinated team communication to successfully navigate. What truly elevates this room is the top-quality execution of the narrative. The puzzles are cleverly designed to fit the lighthearted setting, and this is perfectly coupled with the Game Master's dedicated acting in accordance with the theme. This seamless blend of interactive roleplay, solid puzzle mechanics, and detailed environmental immersion makes for an incredibly cohesive, entertaining, and well-rounded visit.
Captain Spoopy Bones and the Magnificent Quest For Some Other Pirate's Treasure!Doldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLAn exceptional experience that kicks off with a compelling narrative and never lets up. The room and puzzles are cleverly designed, necessitating constant, open communication to progress. With a fantastic variety of puzzle styles to tackle, the gameplay stays fresh from start to finish. This is a standout room that truly deserves all the praise it gets!
The CabinThe Cipher Room NewtownEscape roomIRLThe Cabin at The Cipher Room is a brilliant, highly cohesive room that perfectly balances a creepy, morbid atmosphere without leaning into outright horror or jump scares. The set design is incredibly immersive, making you truly feel like a detective investigating a dark, abandoned serial killer hideout. What really makes this room shine is the sheer variety and flow of the puzzles. It’s a smorgasbord of tactile, physical, and search-based mechanical puzzles that keep the entire team engaged with very little downtime. While the difficulty leans toward medium and might feel a bit straightforward for highly experienced enthusiasts, the brilliant execution keeps the momentum high from start to finish. The story flows seamlessly alongside the puzzles and culminates in a clever, mind-bending finale that includes a really fun, personalized touch. To top it off, the customer service and Game Masters are enthusiastic and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. It’s an ideal room for a group of 2 to 4 players looking for a dark, puzzle-dense mystery that relies on satisfying mechanical tech rather than flashy screens. Highly recommended!
Super Bomb Squad: Commandos AwesomeDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLSuper Bomb Squad is a fantastic, high-energy room with a great mix of puzzle styles that keep you engaged from start to finish. The set design is top-notch, fully immersing you in a top-secret mission, but the high-tech elements really steal the show—especially the visually striking technical puzzles, like the iconic laser room that creatively requires some physical activity and agility to navigate. Beyond the action-packed heist vibe, the designers made clever use of the space to encourage communication, ensuring the team has to collaborate effectively to disarm the bomb. Whether you’re ducking and dodging or solving unique brain-teasers, it’s a brilliant, well-rounded game that perfectly balances fun, teamwork, and immersion!
