漆黒の悟り [Shadow Zen]Studio Escape Daikoku-choEscape roomIRLI was not expecting to find a top-notch escape room in Osaka, with the staff, narrations and puzzles all in perfect English. Additionally Shadow Zen (the only room we had time to do sadly) was one of the 3 best themed rooms we’ve done (>30 total) and one of the top 3 overall. It included a puzzle mechanism that was unique to our experience and completely unexpected. Puzzles worked very well with two people. I wish we could do the other rooms!
Strange MagicMind MastersEscape roomIRLVery well done. Although it’s only a single room it did a great job of using technology to keep revealing new puzzles in the space. It had a couple of really clever props, and notably had no combination locks at all!
Sugar RushExit Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLNice theme, fine puzzles, but very easy and quick. Likely the easiest we’ve ever done. Would be great for young or first timers
Rikers, 1932BrainXcape Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLAs others have said, this was a very poor escape room. The set design was very good, else I have nothing to recommend it. Game play was completely linear, except you couldn’t know it, as you always had pieces of puzzles that you wouldn’t need for a while. So people spent a lot of time frustrated as they discovered they’d been working on a puzzle for 5+ minutes that was in fact incomplete and impossible to solve. Other complaints are that the rooms had no story connection to each other, 90% of the puzzles were just boring combination locks, and I suppose it’s worth mentioning this was by far the most expensive escape room I’ve ever gone to! I don’t understand the positive reviews and wish I’d read the negative reviews more carefully before booking.
