The Escape Game - San Antonio
Escape room
IRL
We brought a very large group of adults and kids (ages 5-14) and everyone was able to participate! The puzzles vary in difficulty in a way that makes it so great for a mixed group age wise. Plus we went at the end of summer - right before the kids had to go back to school! Great theme and fun for families.
Rescue From Voodoo Island
Escape Room San Antonio - Bandera
Escape room
IRL
This was the first escape room my husband and I did together and it was such a great experience we’ve gone on to do over 50 more! Some great physical puzzles, but totally accessible. It’s probably the second easiest room at this location, but that’s not a bad thing! Great for beginners, but fun for more advanced players too!
Murder at Mardi Gras
Escape Room San Antonio - Bandera
Escape room
IRL
I’ll be honest - this is one of two that we didn’t clear. We had pretty much everything we needed but were missing one thing (lessons were learned for future rooms!) The team working did an excellent job trying to get us there and I could tell they were rooting for us, but it can be challenging early on in your escape room journey. Definitely recommended as it’s a fun, diverse room, but bring your A game!
Tomb of the Red Queen
Escape Room San Antonio - Bandera
Escape room
IRL
Excellent room! I would say it is the most challenging at this location as of this post. A lot of puzzles that require real intelligence instead of just wit. There are also a good number of physical tasks, so it’s a great room for a mix of thinkers and doers!
Horror On Hallows Eve
Extreme Escape - Colonnade
Escape room
IRL
The room itself is really fun and has a lot of hidden things that need extra attention. Unfortunately the last puzzle was broken on our run. We spent ten minutes doing it correctly and nothing happened. Ended up just sitting there on the floor waiting for time to run out. The worst part was the team working didn’t seem at all concerned . . .
Saboteur
Escape Room San Antonio - Stone Oak
Escape room
IRL
We went with two people and that was probably a problem. The big draw of the room is being able to be a little naughty while playing Clue - but you can’t do that with two people or you won’t figure out the win condition for the room. Overall, a fine room with some fun a ha moments, but it needs the extra level of sabotage to really hit its stride.
The Impossible Murder Mystery
Komnata Quest
Escape room
IRL
Overall, a solid, spooky room. Generic plot, but you start out in pitch black and have to manage the light throughout the game. It’s creepy, fun, and different. But unlike some other rooms, the darkness is an intentional part of the experience instead of just being poor lighting.
Breaking Point
Extreme Escape - Colonnade
Escape room
IRL
Top two of all time (it’s competing against a room that had massive animatronic dinosaurs though, which says A LOT)! My husband wishes that they recorded the room because he spent probably ten minutes laughing at me jumping at various things around the room. Not scary scary, but definitely adrenaline pumping!
