London Dungeon Escape RoomThe London DungeonEscape roomIRLThis was our first official game in the UK and our 100th room overall. It skyrocketed to number 3 on our list of favorite rooms. From the amazing acting of the staff, to the feel of the room, the puzzles, and the creep factor this place was utterly perfect and extremely immersive. This place is a 10 out of 10 and you NEED to try it!!!!
Davy Jones’ LockerExit 4 - Toms RiverEscape roomIRLMy husband and I decided to take on this room, and it was amazing. They GM told us the success count was 10%, and it was utterly fun to take it apart piece by piece. I truly love Exit 4, and this game is perfect for 2 to 4 players.
Pharaohs TombSolve The RoomEscape roomIRLWe take all of our friends to room, so we asked our neighbors to do another room with us, and we brought them here. Now, this room was very begginer level, so my husband and I took a back seat, but nudged our friends around to help them get things and we crushed the room. Beginners, this is your place to start. It is an epic level introduction room!
Room 172Exit 4 - Toms RiverEscape roomIRLMy husband and I haven't been to an Exit 4 in a while, so when we heard they had a new room we drove down and set about destroying it. The intro puzzle was so clever that we missed it for 10 minutes, but when we got rolling it was great. The atmosphere is decent, the puzzles are good (but a little linear) and the story was lovely. This was a well crafted room!
The Blind Tiger SpeakeasyExpedition EscapeEscape roomIRLThis room was a blast. It's well set up, got great atmosphere and has some really fun puzzles. Beware though, this room isn't unique to this company. I've run into the exact same room under a different name. That being said, Expedition Escape does it better than the Amazing Escape Room! Truly a great room.
Frostline Railway - CLOSEDEast Coast Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis was a pretty solid room, I'm sad it's gone, totally in my top 10 rooms of all time. The puzzles were fun and engaging, the atmosphere enjoyable (especially the jammed car door with the video screen in it where a live actor could've been), and the flow was enjoy to keep four people interested! I would live them to bring it back so I can suggest you enjoy it too.
Star ShipCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - HamiltonEscape roomIRLWhat an utter disappointment. Cloak and Dagger has so many great rooms, but this one hurt me. So, the atmosphere is GREAT, it's like visiting TOS Enterprize, but that's where the awesomeness ends. So, the puzzles are convoluted to say the least. My husband is big, and isn't a weak guy. He pulled on one of the boxes hanging out the wall and it wouldn't open, so we figured it was magnetic and would open after a puzzle... Nope! The GM came in after and said that the box sticks. She dropped all her weight on it and the stupid thing wouldn't open, so.my husband tried. He had to break a sweat to get it open, and of course there was the three missing puzzle pieces we needed. Next the tribbles... The GM told us that the owner didn't like people escaping his rooms so easy, so he dimmed the lights on the dribbles, and replaced several of them with blended colors, making them nearly impossible to tell apart. Honestly, I still reccomend all other Cloak and Dagger rooms, but this one I can't
Pirates of the Golden SkullSolve It SherlockEscape roomIRLThe room is really decent, but you can play it elsewhere, so if you've done a pirate room at the Amazing Escape Room, skip this one.... If you haven't, come to this room instead. The story is great, the layout is awesome, the staff is friendly and the puzzles are good, but linear.
Under PressureEscapology - GarwoodEscape roomIRLThis was one of my least favorite games. While the room is well themed, the GM was totally inattentive, kept giving us the clues for a different room, and the lack of sound proofing made it next to impossible to tell what was happening in our room or the one next door. I would avoid this room.
The HeistThe Escape Game - King of PrussiaEscape roomIRLGood room with a unique feel and an interesting premise. I was plseatnly surprised that as we moved from room to room the theme changed, but felt totally in sync with the story. I highly reccomend!
Quest for the Realm [prev. Dragon Castle]Ultimate Xscape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis was a pretty solid room with good puzzles and a decent theme. The opening area is a little tight, so I'd keep the number of players to 4 or less, but the second room opens up nicely. The range of puzzles is really interesting and challenging, while staying with the theme of the room. This is not an introductory room, but it's great fun!
The Magician's SecretSolve It SherlockEscape roomIRLThe room was excellent, but a little smaller than I would like, so I'm going to say this is a mid-level game for newer to mid-ranged gamers. The puzzles are fun and inventive, and the story is great if you know anything about magic (and even if you don't). Enjoy!
The Wandmaker’s CurseExit 4 Escape Rooms - DelranEscape roomIRLThis is a really enjoyable wizard themed room, but it's not the best. That doesn't mean I wouldn't reccomend it, quite the opposite. It's challenging, thought provoking, and the immersion is excellent! Top 10 Room for sure!
Mansion MurderEscapology - HolmdelEscape roomIRLWe don't normally pack.of room, we prefer 4 to 5 players at most, but for my husband's birthday we did and this room was worth doing so with. It's large, with great puzzles that have excellent reach, and was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had! Bring a good team and take this room down, you won't regret it!
MaydayEscapology - HolmdelEscape roomIRLEscapology is one of the best companies in the area, and MayDay was a delightful game. My husband and I don't get stumped very often, but this one really hit us hard. We needed a couple more sets of eyes to handle this one. The puzzles were challenging, the atmosphere was stunning, and the staff - as always - rocked!
Game of StonesCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - HamiltonEscape roomIRLThis is Cloak and Dagger's second best game, but you need to go to Wild Wood New Jeresy to rock the best. It's got a great atmosphere, challenging puzzles, and has just enough geeky references to GOT, D&D, and LotRs to make it enjoyable for all levels of geek! My husband is a total nerd and this room melted his mind. Top 5 games for sure! Give it a go!
Lost CityEscapology - HolmdelEscape roomIRLThe puzzles on this room were really solid, but they felt a little linear. The decorations were excellent, and the normally decent staff was okay, save the girl working at the counter, who had an attitude. I would really suggest this room, for beginners and couples.
The Wizard's Wand - CLOSEDCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - HamiltonEscape roomIRLThis was a really fun room. The owner does the opening video, and we was okay at it. The puzzles were pretty solid and interesting. You have to stop being a Harry Potter fan and nit think about how things happened in the books and just be in the moment. The atmosphere was amazing, but it was dark... The should've had a lumos wand (flashlight) to help with the last puzzle. Otherwise, stellar job.
