The Buried ProphecyQuest Tavern - UplandEscape roomIRLAwesome Egyptian themed room. Had a lot of fun. Recommended!
Election DayAppleseed AvenueEscape roomIRLA truly unique escape room style experience. A bit pricey, but a very fun experience. Great environment, funny interactions, and excellent game play. Highly recommend!!
Crazy Train: The Ballad of Skeemin' PlotzDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThis is a must play game. Unique story and creative set design. It’s like being in an old school cartoon! Top 10 on my list.
Captain Spoopy Bones and the Magnificent Quest For Some Other Pirate's Treasure!Doldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI’ve probably done at least 15 pirate themed rooms and this was by far the best. Highly recommend visiting this place for their rooms. Well deserving of their awards.
Hide and Squeak - A Squirrely Adventure - CLOSEDExit Strategy GamesEscape roomIRLEntertaining room but VERY easy. Great room to play off it’s your first time or taking a group of kids.
The Mystery At The Majestic TheatreFind and SeekEscape roomIRLThis being a 45 minute room made us feel really rushed to the point where we were overlooking a lot when trying to solve some of the puzzles. There's really no reason this shouldn't be a 60 minute room. We were on the last part when we ran out of time, but they gave us 5 more minutes so we could finish. Overall, the room was still fun, despite the short time given. The puzzles can be tough if you don't have a keen eye (it doesn't help if you feel rushed). One other thing to note is that the place is inside a mall and is not in the best area of the city, so make sure you go with at least a few others.
Batman™: The Dark Knight ChallengeEscapology - NorthridgeEscape roomIRLI wish Morty had a rating in between thumbs up and thumbs down. There were parts of this game that I enjoyed, but overall was pretty disappointed. The set design was cool, but the space was VERY small. Don't go with more than 4 people...you'll be cramped the entire time.
Steampunk AliceMaze Rooms - LAXEscape roomIRLAll of the rooms at this location are the best among all of the Maze Rooms locations, and this is my favorite at this location. The set design is great and the puzzles were a lot of fun. I’m getting close to 500 rooms so it’s rare at this point when I come across a game with a unique story, but that’s exactly what Steampunk Alice and all of the rooms here deliver. Highly recommend!!
Escape TruckNorCal Escape Co.Escape roomIRLI rarely do mobile escape rooms, but this one works as both a mobile game and a stationary in-person escape room. Given the size of the truck, it can get a little crowded with 4 people, and it is a little short since there isn't a lot of room to place a lot of puzzles. But our group still enjoyed the game. The owners are able to make it work well. This is a great room to play if you're a first-timer.
Dragon AlleyKeystone Escape GamesEscape roomIRLGreat room with fun puzzles! Good mix of puzzle types and balanced for a team of 4 to split up and have something for everyone to do. Our “Jim” was very entertaining. Highly recommended for both enthusiasts and newbies!
Blood of the OriginalKeystone Escape GamesEscape roomIRLReally fun high tech room. Highly recommend all rooms at this location. Owner and GMs are enthusiasts themselves and made it a great experience!
Witch DoctorDeadline Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLReally good set design for this room and especially loved how the priestess communicates with the players. The story was well done and the puzzles were fun to solve.
Dead SilenceDeadline Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLI thought this room would be a lot more scary when I read the description. The unique feature of this room is that the lights go out if you make too much noise. It was fun to test the limits, but it felt like it would trigger at times when were were not as loud as other times when the lights would stay on. The lights only go out for about 5 seconds, so it really acts as a time penalty more than anything else. But, the puzzles were still a lot of fun and the story was well done. Would definitely still recommend, but was hoping for just a little bit more on the scare factor.
Noir Episode 1Deadline Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLCombining the review for episodes 1 and 2 because they are very similar rooms. I really liked the idea of have 2 different stories set in the same environment. Although I really enjoyed playing both of the episodes, I don't think there was enough content in both to warrant it being 2 games. I think this would have worked better as a single 90-minute game. One of the drawbacks of having 2 different games in the same setting is that almost everything in the room is marked to tell you which game it applies to, so you kind of know everywhere to look right off the bat. When you start the game, the black-and-white theme of the room is really cool. But after a while, you kind of forget it's there. The interaction with your "informant" who gives you items as you progress through the game is very well done. Overall, a very fun game, but kind of short as 2 individual episodes.
The Key of DestinyBoggled Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe Egyptian themed escape room has been done over and over again, and this was a brand new business, so I wasn't expecting much coming into it. I was really surprised. The sets were pretty good, the puzzles were a lot of fun, and the owner (who was our GM) was really nice. She genuinely wanted to make sure we had fun and we really did. The game may be a little bit challenging with just 2 people. The puzzles themselves weren't too difficult, but there's a lot to do, so ideally it should be played with at least 4 people so you can split up. Great room/location. Highly recommended. Really looking forward to their next game!
Ghost PatrolTrivium GamesEscape roomIRLAbsolutely amazing room. Easily top 10. The puzzles were fun, the set was perfect, and the story flowed very well. There prop you’re given at the beginning of the game fits with the story and works well with the puzzles. It’s pricey, but well worth it. So much fun!
