Choco-lateBreak Escape Nottingham - Market StreetEscape roomIRLGreat fun room for families Quite a bit to keep you going
SpellboundThe Escape HouseEscape roomIRLOverall one of the best escape rooms I have ever done. Fantastic set, even the locks are in keeping. Can’t wait for their second room to be ready!
The Lost TempleProdigy Escapes And ExperiencesEscape roomIRLWe visited this as two experienced adult escapist and an increasingly experienced 9 year old escapist. The puzzles were interactive and logical enough for our 9 year old to attempt and enjoy. There were some mechanical puzzles (that I loved) that others may find a bit tricky. Dan had some good suggestions for those. Nicely themed, good puzzles, well hosted. We’ll happily try one of the others next time we’re in the South West!
OrbitalBreak Escape Nottingham - Market StreetEscape roomIRLNice room. Theme isn’t novel but it’s excellently executed. Tech all works. No padlocks. Would suit most groups including enthusiasts. It on the top floor, so make sure you’re happy climbing 3-4 flights of stairs to get in. Nothing scary.
The Ram RaidEscape ReadingEscape roomIRLReally enjoyed this bank heist. It followed a classic theme. The safe was a great bit of set design and was really in theme. I like that there were also some Mechanical puzzles as well. And a bit of a surprise really made me laugh in the vault. Good job, looking forward to doing your other rooms.
Curiouser and Curiouser - CLOSEDTimeTrap Escape Rooms ReadingEscape roomIRLThis is up there with some of my favourite escape rooms. We loved the breadth of puzzle styles and there was a good Chunk of puzzles to do - It certainly had us feeling that we might not complete it at some stages. The theme is unique and really suits the room. I would highly recommend Time Trap in general and enjoyed all three Of Station X, puddling lane and this.
Labyrinth - Lord Barrington's FollyEscape BrumEscape roomIRLThis is up there with my favourite games. I love the ‘use the whole hour to get what you can’ style. Everyone’s a winner. That being said, it helps if you slow down and are observant (not usually our strong point!!). We played as a two and I think if we’d gone as a three or four we’d have got all but one/two of the coins. Highly recommend. You could have fun if it was your first or hundredth room.
The Mystic's CabinEscape BrumEscape roomIRLGood solid deduction room. A few ‘a - ha’ moments when you click with the puzzles. There’s quite a bit to do.
The Legend Of Foole's GoldClockwork EscapesEscape roomIRLI do love a game that has you using the whole of your hour. First time in a while where I felt a third player would have really helped us. The intentionally dark and dusty set is not scary in any way but might put some off - personally I loved it. Some great ah-ha moments and a great in character Gm
Professor Clockwork's Mind PalaceClockwork EscapesEscape roomIRLCompleted as a two. Fine for us. Might be a bit cramped with more than 4. Fantastic to play rooms with a fun and unique theme. Really liked the way the puzzles were signposted so you knew what to input where. The cross-room communication puzzle was just my style. I think Foole’s gold just edged it for me, but we’ll Worth playing whilst you’re there!
OzXscapeNowEscape roomIRLAnother fantastic offering by the Xscape now team. Brilliant set and scenery. Plenty of puzzles styles to keep you interested. Everything is logical. We made it out with no clues, so although it says ‘hard’ it never felt stressful. This room would also be completely fine for kids (I would have happily taken my 7 year old who has done a few rooms with us - kids would need some guidance but would be completely fine and they will love the munchkin house. Great work guys.
The Grand HeistThe Escape Room GuysEscape roomIRLWe attempted this as a two. You’ll pretty much get the full hour because the escape section takes around 20-30 mins and the rest is grab the loot. Not too much search and find, lots of standalone puzzles that require decoding/logic/cypher - it definitely suits the more mathematical brain (hence us!). A lot of the puzzles work best with two heads (either in two places for communication or read and transcribe), but if we’d stuck to that we’d have never gotten all the gold! This would also be family friendly (no jump scares or scary bits). Really enjoyed the room and looking forward to playing their others.
Santa's Sweet Success - CLOSEDBreak EscapeEscape roomIRLA great room for families, a good number of interactive puzzles that we could support our seven year old through - and a few that took us a while as well!
The Elixir VitaeBreak EscapeEscape roomIRLPart 1 of the academy of spells. Nice mix of logic and mechanical puzzles. Break escape advertise this as hard, but it seemed pretty straightforward. The set and atmosphere was detailed and fit really well.
CreaturesBreak EscapeEscape roomIRLPart II of the academy of spells. A mix of linear and non-linear puzzles worked well for us. A bit more thinking required than part I. Worked ok as a four. Would be doable by two.
VikingExtremescapeEscape roomIRLYou can tell this is their most recent room. Many more of the puzzles are automated (both with correct and incorrect answers (!)). The ending reveal is great and really finishes off the room with a finale. Loved this. Really impressed with all three of their games and would highly recommend. (This game would probably scare younger kids. The soundtrack is appropriate but loud at some points and there are a few moments that are a bit dark with flashing lights - anyone at senior school would be fine, maybe a bit younger with parental guidance)
Pirate ShipExtremescapeEscape roomIRLA great example of the pirate room. Good mix of observational puzzles, riddles and logic made for a really enjoyable experience.
Mr Copplestone's Curiosity ShoppeEscape Quest United KingdomEscape roomIRLThis has shot to the top of our list as our all time Favourite. You could do this a beginner and love it, but they’ve definitely played to the enthusiasts carefully and I love the fact that you’ll get the whole hour, regardless of how good or bad you are solving puzzles. It would also really suit bigger groups, but we had plenty of fun as a two. Can’t wait to bring our friends back next time to try one of their others when they rotate games!
Lost TombExtremescapeEscape roomIRLOverall a good challenge. Will suit a team who enjoy searching into every nook And cranny… some nice touches with the set
Diamond Duel - Team Walter - CLOSEDExperimental EscapeEscape roomIRLNice team, good effort at the heist theme, nothing ground breaking but perfectly enjoyable
