Fate of the Fairytales House of Conundrum - Omaha Escape RoomEscape roomIRLFate of the Fairytales might be the favorite escape room I have done in the fantasy genre. I have done many that are glorified number lock rooms with whimsical theming. Here, the puzzles are magical, intuitive and tactile. The high tech parts of them make it extremely fun and feel like you are casting spells, mixing potions, battling creatures, etc. it’s not a huge space, but the space they have they make the most of.
Room 13Get Out - OmahaEscape roomIRLPersonally, I really liked this room! There a lot more than meets the eye here. It’s eerie, I really thought it was gonna turn horror at first but it didn’t. It was the right amount of suspense, mystery and puzzles. The puzzles were in theme and made the later half of the room very fun and immersive! My favorite room here is civil war but this is a close second and a great one to follow it up!
Knight in the Museum 2: Knights RevengHouse of Conundrum - Omaha Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI was very mixed about this one at first, but after completing the full experience, I think it is well worth your time and it ultimately it was a great experience. It’s still a heist room, if you’ve played the original Knight in the museum they have not added new rooms or construction but the puzzles are completely new. I was very displeased at first thinking it was a completely new lay out since almost all the exhibits from the past museum room are in the same place. HOWEVER! The puzzle design ultimately won me over and they have some really neat effects in the room. Puzzles are a good mix of high tech and classic number lock and are pretty much all story centered. (The first puzzle is REALLY cool, prepare for some mission impossible-like gameplay!) I will say, I miss the live actor component of the previous museum room but after talking with one of the employees it seems they’re trying to integrate it back into the experience. Over all I ended up really liking this room and think it’s well worth the playthrough next time you’re at House of Conundrum.
The Official SAW EscapeSaw Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWell, here we are. I’ve wanted to do this room since it came out years ago and was so excited to do it finally… we left feeling so disappointed. First, the team mates we were paired with sucked- not the escape rooms fault. They have an option that you can have a private room for $400+ but let’s be honest, majority of us aren’t doing that so it’s a gamble (it is Vegas, I guess) Then our GM/actor… boy… I really wish I could say better about him since a lot of other reviews say their actor was a highlight. He, unfortunately, made the experience WAY worse. He would nudge us in the right direction when asked, but other than that, his character dialogue basically consisted of “wow, you guys are stupid” I don’t mind a game master that playfully roasts our group while in character, that can be very fun- but this was excessive to the point where it felt more like bullying and just plain annoying. It doesn’t add to the tension. The puzzle design is hit and miss. Gotta be honest, maybe these puzzles were cutting edge when the escape room first came out but I’ve seen a lot of these style of puzzles used better elsewhere and for less of a ticket price. Also, some puzzles are humanly impossible unless you complete some of the early rooms, which give you hints down the line. I would not come here for well put together puzzle design. The only thing positive out of our experience is the set design. Gotta give them their props I wanted nothing more than to sing this rooms praises from the mountain top, but due to falling short on the teammate gamble, our annoyed & highly insulting actor and high tech but illogical puzzle design, I cannot recommend this experience.

It’s actually the perfect beginner room they have in my opinion. Not to easy, but not impossible for new groups.
Saving LincolnHouse of Conundrum - Omaha Escape RoomEscape roomIRLHonestly, I’m surprised they classify this room as their easiest as it really stumped us. Looking back I think we were just not understanding the room as other people we have talked to said it was easy for them. Despite this, it was still a good time. Room theme is pretty average so don’t go in expecting a bunch of special effects but for one of HOC’s first rooms it’s worth a play through and good time in the end.

Blood ThirstyHouse of Conundrum - Omaha Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe did BloodThirsty as a family outing since we like spooky stuff and heard it was one of the better “scary” escape rooms in Omaha. Overall it was really great. I don’t think it’s a spoiler as it’s on their website, but half of us went in handcuffed & blindfolded with the other half trying to rescue us unfortunate “victims”. Going in blind was actually pretty scary and the fact that they said the “monsters” could jump out at any moment definitely had me on edge. They do have live actors in this room, be warned. But I appreciated that they asked us for our consent if we were okay with certain scares. The puzzles were harder than I expected for a horror room. Most scary rooms I’ve done usually are less complex and focus on the scares but BLOODTHIRSTY’S puzzles left a few of us stumped. The atmosphere was filled with a dark, grungy yet neon-scifi esthetic, which works for the story they’re trying to tell. Hints are almost always given in-character which adds an extra layer of immersion. Also the finale is tense, suspense and VERY satisfying. If you’re a horror escape room fan and in Omaha, I think BloodThirsty is well worth a play through.
