Top SecretGame Over Escape Rooms - BrandonEscape roomIRLNot a bad little game Fun heist theme, good immersion which was enjoyable. I will say by Game Overs standards as there games have some really impressive set design; this was more average by their scale but still fun This was not too difficult as we finished in about 40 minutes with two of us. I’d caution a large group as you might finish in less than 30 minutes This is a good starter game or one to even consider soloing as there is nothing you couldn’t complete as a single player
UnguardedRiddler's Escape - TampaEscape roomIRLWhat a fun concept and game This is an atypical escape game as it is a bit heavier on live actor interaction however it’s a blast to play and perfect for a bigger group The puzzles and challenges were great but the real magic was the interactions and thinking on your toes. Honestly this might be a great one for the work group for team building as improv is important here but very forgiving Definitely add this to the wishlist
The Movie Monster Murder MysteryAmaze Games - Port CharlotteEscape roomIRLI could not have loved this room more Genuinely this is my perfect type of adventure It’s story driven, very original, blends humor and horror, it’s weaves between mystery and adventure and the puzzling is varied and fun I want to play this room again I will admit though I’m a sucker for the Universal originally monsters and this is a love letter to them and it’s so well written This room plays great for new players and enthusiasts. Not too scary and was also once of the better murder mysteries I’ve played (but I can’t tell you why … spoilers) The kicker is Tori was our GM and was absolutely delightful. Highly recommend this one
Trials of TrickeryAmaze Games - Port CharlotteEscape roomIRLThis is how you make a one room experience a fun adventure This had a great variety of puzzles, was very story driven and was just a treat to play I’ll admit I’m a sucker for a magic room and this really hit the right notes It also offered one of the smartest and narrative driven clueing systems I’ve seen in a room. It was up to you to use them or not. It was a genuine genius move to just help with the decision of “what next” when we hit a lull This is a perfect family room as nothing was too difficult but still offered a nice challenge in working out puzzles and logic in the room Highly recommend this and the mystery (which is now one of my favorite rooms) Tori was our GM and was amazing. Can’t wait to come back to finish out the rooms
Click 'N Glitch Arcade PalaceThe Escape Ventures - Port CharlotteEscape roomIRLAmazing!!! This Gen X’er loved this room so much You will enjoy it regardless of your age but the room, story, puzzle and immersion was … radical. (Let’s pull out the 80s lingo) Honestly this was perfect Escape Ventures in terms of puzzles matching perfectly to game style, limited but smart use of a live actor and just delightful immersion from start to finish Highly recommend this room and if time and budget are in your favor; play all three rooms here We cannot wait for the fourth room. Jacob was our GM and was fantastic! Tidbit: Easy parking Rebooking discount Food and drink options near by
Cosmic CrisisThe Escape Game - TampaEscape roomIRLVery fun room This is a great room if you love some balance in mechanic and tech puzzling The immersion was top notch as always from the escape game; they really know how to make you feel a part of the story and this room is no exception The puzzles had a nice mix of “follow the leader” and very fun mechanical and physical elements to tackle If you have a group with a mix of a crowd that loves video games or iPad adventure and those who like tried and true escape room experiences, this room offers a great balance of both experiences Definitely recommend this room
DraculaGame Over Escape Rooms - BrandonEscape roomIRLGreat room Fun immersion, unique puzzles and all had the Dracula vibe throughout Really hats off to the team on the immersion. As a fan of lore and Vlad Tepes; love weaving in some fact and fiction into the narrative and room Not too spooky and no gore; that was a very pleasant surprise Definitely recommend this room
LycanthropeThe Lair Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFantastic room I have to talk immersion first. If macabre could have a rating on Morty this would be the highest end of that scale and it’s devilishly delicious Nothing gory for the sake of gory but it’s wonderful to see a room jump into this level of design and immersion without sacrificing puzzle design and game play This was a wonderful romp to play and the connection between the design and puzzles was just top notch Highly recommend this one especially during the Halloween season Cannot recommend this location highly enough
CathedralThe Lair Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFantastic room Perfect Halloween room and the creepy and spooky vibe is strong in this one. Not for the kiddies unless your kiddies like very, immersive horror I on the other hand love spooky and this was right up my alley Great variety of puzzle, great mapping, fun story and just a fun-smart room Definitely add this to your date night or even better your Halloween tradition Highly recommend this one
PhobiaCountdown LouisvilleEscape roomIRLGreat concept and perfect example that a one-room experience can be a blast to play This room offers a great story, nice blend of puzzles and challenges and some fair but thoughtful puzzles to tackle This is a perfect Halloween room and a good one for new players. By no means easy but it offers less pressure based on the volume and challenge level Highly recommend this one especially for Halloween season
Legend of the YetiThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLFun and light-hearted room This is just a fun romp. It has a great mix of physical and mental challenges to tackle. The variety never strayed too far into the hard difficulty range. This felt like a very fair room in terms of puzzle density and challenge. This would be a nice mix of a starter/experienced group as there is enough to do but could be a nice way to ease into escape rooms; definitely friendly for the younger members of your team. I actually enjoyed they rethemed Gold Rush. It has the same room architecture but the puzzling is unique to this room. This did not feel like a retread in the least. Definitely recommend this one.
Prison BreakThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThis is an amazing room. Start to finish this experience is a thoughtful romp of escaping a prison, room-by-room and the logical journey throughout the game play. There is fair and fun split-room start experience which is arguably the best split-room we've played in terms of it's balance, tasks to accomplish and what collaboration is needed to continue the journey. After your initial jail break you have a smart journey to the exit. I'll not spoil the rest of the way but it's a great collection of jail break movies in terms of tasks and environments. The puzzles and tasks offer a nice mix or challenges and some physical ones (crawling is involved for all team mates. A few very smart puzzles which a few were new to us which was fun to experience. This is a great game and while we tackled as a couple, this is definitely a good four to six person room. Highly recommend this room.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLSuch a fun game Might be my favorite sub game. Not that I’ve played an overwhelming amount of submarine games but this one stands out for a few reasons Reason one; this was not a “now press this button” game I’m not a personal fan of escape rooms that feel like an arbitrary “push the button” now mini game. This room really weaves in exploration, story and the sub so well. 2) there is a story and logic for being under water and what happens when you leave the sub 3) it’s a great game There is an abundance of fun puzzles, variety in task and some very unique elements that I can’t describe to avoid a spoiler or two (or five) This is a great one for the whole family. Highly recommend Tidbits: We played a private game which is affordable if you play durning the week Easy parking Lots to do near by Fantastic staff
Crypt Of The VampireMystique Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWhat a fun romp to celebrate Halloween season. The game itself was really fun. Very spooky atmosphere but nothing too scary. This is a good room for those whole like their immersion with some thrills and chills but nothing to be frightened by outside the timer. The story; very thoughtful with some really smart choices for puzzle mapping. I'll share no more here to avoid spoilers but let's just say some very thoughtful storytelling and puzzle mapping are used to make for a fun escape room experience. The puzzles themselves are intuitive, flow with the story and have a good logic. This helped to keep us in the story from minute one through minute 45 (we finished with 15 minutes to spare). This is a fair room and plays a smidge easier than their other rooms - less layered puzzles. This is more straight forward in task and challenge. This is probably best for 3-4 people; 4 if you have some new people you are playing with or the younger crowd. I found this to be the most enjoyable room at this location but would recommend all four here for a fun day. Tidbits: Parking can be a challenge so I'd suggest parking in the Publix parking lot which is right next door Plenty for food and drink options; great one across the street with The Friendly Confines (a Chicago themed spot). Staff is warm and friendly Two clean bathrooms
Space Team OneThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLVery fun room - super enjoyable Fun, atmospheric room. Very “alien” vibes for this space room Go into this room understanding this location has very home brew builds which offer strong stories, fun puzzles and good set design. This is their space room which is newly repuzzled and it’s a fun game This played more as a first gen room but it’s still very enjoyable. Good puzzles and puzzling, fun variety of challenges to tackle and the story carried throughout the experience — this was just fun (did I say it was fun … maybe a few times). lol Not my favorite room here but I certainly would recommend it (CSI and Neverland were my favorites) This room plays best with 3-4 but we finished with two (we used nudges to help us finish as this has a high volume of tasks to tackle) If you haven’t been here before it’s really a great spot. They have a lovely bar and fun rooms; great way to spend a weekend
The HeistThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLWhat a fantastic heist room. Full disclosure, we totally had an off day. Maybe I’m exaggerating a bit but we were not at our best. Regardless, this is an amazing room and I kinda want to replay it when my brain is fully operational. One thing Escape Game does so well is to logic everything. Every element in the room, the puzzles and clues all tie back to not only the theme of the room but the story. This is such a hard thing to do and the team here made it look easy. Laura was our GM and honestly was basically the third member of the team for the day as we missed some obvious elements. If you play this one, and this is something I forget, if they tell you not to touch an item it basically means everything else is fair game. After some other locations I’ve played, I don’t do a good enough job of remembering the rules for what is off limits changes based on where you are at. This is a room you really need to play with the environment and you are rewarded for it. I highly recommend this room. Also wear something warm as one of the two rooms that host The Heist is kinda cold and this is coming from someone who loves the cold. Tidbits: Great location and large parking lot in the back (entrance is off the parking lot not the street front) Plenty to do nearby Rebooking discount These are public rooms. Plan accordingly if you are trying to be an introvert.
Trapped In NeverlandThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLWhat a phenomenal room. Arguably their best room. Fun theme, some truly unique puzzles and one of the better pirate experiences I’ve played. They did an excellent job of connecting the story to the setting and characters. They gave a thoughtful purpose for the story connection to the puzzling and theme of the room. Genuinely some of the more unique puzzles I’ve played and crazy there was not a lock, key or any usual mechanic in the room. Yes, the room is a bit older and yes it does not have some of the bells and whistles of other contemporary rooms however, this is still a great room. This is roughly our 160th room and this could rank in the top 20 for me in terms of just fun game play and diversity and variety of really cool puzzles. Highly recommend this room to a new to escape room player or someone with more games under their belt than we have. Would pair this with their Suburban Serial Killer room (not for the kiddos based on the subject matter of that room) but Neverland was safe for all ages.
TakenEpic EscapesEscape roomIRLSuper fun room Very old school but the room plays great. Wonderful theme and story that connects to the puzzles and game flow Nice variety of puzzles, fun mix of challenges and some really interesting technology used to bring the story to life Highly recommend this one Tidbits Crowded area but parking lots are near by Cute tourist area so definitely make a day of it here
The Lost Temple – “The Search For Annalise Rockhound”Epic EscapesEscape roomIRLGreat room Really well done relic hunt theme and the story was better than other rooms like this than I’ve played This was a nice mix of solve what happened vs just find an object Great old school room, everything was in good working order, nice mix of challenges and puzzles throughout Definitely try this one out
Welcome To EatenvilleEpic EscapesEscape roomIRLAwesome cabin in the woods room Really well done in terms of story telling and connecting all of the puzzles to the story I loved the originality of the puzzles and the home made nature of the immersion and elements which told a really fun story Had a few puzzles I’ve not seen in other rooms and it all worked really well Great room and I’d highly recommend this one
