Do not waste your money on this game. I reached out to the the company via email explaining the problems we experienced during our visit and waited a few days to see how they responded before I posted this review, but very unprofessionally they did not even respond. With much regret, we had a very disappointing experience with the Orient Express. We have done almost all rooms with Game Over Escape in the Tampa Bay area and were very excited to do this one, but left with a bad taste. The entire room had no logical flow and did not have functioning sensors. Though we had the puzzles in the correct order, there were times we had to wait around one full minute for the reveal to appear, and in escape room time one minute is a lot. This did not happen once, but with every single puzzle throughout the room. One portion was not reset at all. These mishaps completely threw us off. The staff was ok, but did not offer us to do another room at a discount and/or apologize for the faulty room. We have done over 100 rooms and definitely do not recommend this one at all. Parts of every room are dark as well and hard to see what you should be doing. Such disappointment and at an expense.

To start, our game master Kylon was absolutely amazing! He added so much to the game with his enthusiastic energy! Secondly, this was my FAVORITE escape room ever, and i’ve done a lot! The storyline is so fun and entertaining, and Escape Ventures never misses on the quality of their rooms, you truthfully are completely immersed and feel like you’re in an actual manor! If you’re considering doing this room i 120% recommend doing it, it won’t disappoint!

to start, the host was VERY unpresentable she was in stained clothes, was wearing no bra, which you could very much tell, and overall looked very dirty. to add, all of the flash lights for the room were broken. when we asked if we could use our phone flashlights, since we needed to be able to see, the host acted like she was doing us the biggest favor by allowing us to do so (like it’s not our fault your equipment is broken). she was talking down to us like we were stupid, and making us feel very inferior and uncomfortable. as soon as we get in the room she tell us where our first item is that we need to get out of that space, since it was broken, start to a horrible game. sometime through the gameplay she comes in and gives us flashlights with batteries that she admitted to nastily taking out of the trash. one of the flashlights she gave us actually turned out to be a black light, to which we kept finding clues too early and the host kept rudely telling us that the clues were not in play yet. while the facade was cool, it could not make up for sloppy, rude workers, broken game pieces, and overall a bad experience. we won’t be returning to outerlife.

my favorite room i’ve ever done! another company that we always recommend to other players. i cannot possibly exclaim how good of an experience we’ve had at the exit games. the gameplay is always so smooth, and the live interactions add so much to an already perfect room. i always say you can tell the difference between escape companies that do it because they’re passionate about escape rooms vs companies that do it for the money, and the exit games are 1000% passionate about rooms. the two rooms at the exit games are top quality games that are so interesting and interactive that you wish you could do them over and over again. you will not be disappointed with either room!

i don’t like the gameplay at escapology at all. there’s always one piece that’s super hidden somewhere that you’re scared to look cause you might break something, and all the rooms have the same layout. i always say you can tell the difference between an escape room company that does it because they love escape rooms and an escape room company that does it for the money, escapology is 100% for the money.

the coolest thing about this place is the “ lobby “ you first walk into when you arrive. definitely not traditional escape room play, everything electronic and it was not enjoyable. there’s a part in the game where you have to sort coffee ingredients and we had to do it blindly because the coffee receipt never printed. you would think the game master would come fix it or help us, especially after we asked 100 times if the receipt was supposed to print since we saw it stuck. not sure if they weren’t paying attention or if they didn’t care, both equally as bad. after the game we asked “ was a receipt supposed to print to help us with the coffee puzzle ? “ and the game master said “ yea “ and i said “ oh well it didn’t and it made us take forever on that puzzle because we had to guess everything “ and she wasn’t apologetic the least bit, she literally said “ oh “. disappointing.
