The flow of the room could be improved, but besides that the room was solid. There were also some unique elements that we hadn’t seen before.
Pandora’s BoxTrapped! Escape Room - Las VegasEscape roomIRLThis room was super different from most of the rooms we’ve done before. It’s linear, so probably better for 2-4 people. We had a group of 3 and it was a blast, the room was definitely special-effects heavy in terms of atmosphere, which I think works well for the theme. Also, the room accommodates all skill levels which is really nice.
Keeper of the LightMystified Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLDecent room, theming was good but we did have to rely on flashlights to see most of the clues. The room was pretty easy, making it good for people who are new to escape rooms.
Into The Depths: SubmergedMission Escape Games - West Hartford, CTEscape roomIRLFun room, it flows well and isn’t too difficult. The atmosphere is decent, and the room has its fair share of unique puzzles. Some puzzles utilize technology in an interesting way, which made for a fun experience. Overall, pretty solid room.
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - NYC MidtownEscape roomIRLSimilar to other rooms at The Escape Game, this room had a fantastic atmosphere. We were in a group of 6 (Our group of 4 got paired with a group of 2). Unfortunately, there were some puzzles that didn’t leave room for a large group to solve so we found ourselves standing around at times. Take that with a grain of salt though, the room was still greatly enjoyable!
噬魂公厕 [Soul-Eater Public Restroom]灵魂密室 Soul Escape Room 恐怖真人密室逃脱Escape roomIRLFun room, a good introduction to horror/jumpscare rooms. We needed help on almost every puzzle, I will say they didn’t feel the most straightforward. Despite this, the room was still fun to play with a group of friends if you are looking for a good scare.
Prison BreakThe Escape Game - NYC MidtownEscape roomIRLWe had so much fun at this room! Most of the puzzles were fairly straightforward, and at the start of the game the group is split up into two cells, which is always a fun test of communication skills. Overall gameplay had a lot of fun elements, and the set design was interesting.
The Jungle Dimension - CLOSEDPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLThis was a super cute room! It was on the easier side, with puzzles being straight forward. The theming was fantastic, and the room seems like it could be great for beginners while still being involved enough to be fun for more experienced group members. Definitely a kid friendly room also!
Do Not DisturbEscapismEscape roomIRLThe room was alright, our group enjoyed it but overall it was not anything special compared to other rooms we’ve done. The storyline was a bit rough, and it felt like there were a lot of unnecessary details. While the set design was decent, there were a lot of extra props in the room. The flow of the room was a little messy, and we ended up missing a puzzle. The entrance to the room was unique, which we enjoyed.
Dragonborne - CLOSEDLara's Labyrinth - East HavenEscape roomIRLThe room is cool, but it has its flaws. The atmosphere and set design felt polished and immersive, but the puzzles did not flow as well as we would have wished. Some puzzles were also sensitive, making them a bit tedious to complete. Repetitive noises also became annoying at times because of how easily they were triggered.
The ScoreEscapismEscape roomIRLOne of the most unique rooms we’ve done to this day! It’s not your typical escape room; rather than working through rooms to escape you get a score based on the amount of puzzles you complete. It is replay-able, which is cool. The end of the experience is also super fun, and it involved free “souvenirs”. 10/10 recommend!
The Lost Book of Spells - CLOSEDTeam Vs TimeEscape roomIRLWe played this room as a group of 10. The room ended up being a little tight for us, so I would recommend going with a medium-small sized group. The atmosphere was fantastic, but the puzzles had some technical flaws that made gameplay difficult. Overall, it was a good experience.
The Strangest ThingsREACT Premium Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis room was slightly underwhelming. The puzzles were alright, but the set design wasn’t great. The room was mostly decorated with graphics rather than physical props, and it was not as immersive as we would have liked. The flow was not the best, and the story was not built up enough to justify the flaws.
The Magician's Apprentice - CLOSEDEscapismEscape roomIRLThe room flowed fairly well, it’s important to note that some puzzles centered around colors which were a bit difficult to see, but besides that all of the other puzzles worked as intended. The GM made us aware that some more direct hints had been added to the room to lessen the difficulty, and we felt that those adjustments took away from some of the creative thinking that we would have liked to do. (I’m not sure if that aspect has changed since we did the room, they could have very well updated it)
P.T. Railways: Rebel RunPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLWith having done many escape rooms before, I would surely say that this room stands out. My group and I ended up doing this room along with Warehouse 13, both exceeding our expectations. This room was large, and the creative atmosphere tied the experience together. Many of the puzzles were unique, with many of them being tactile. We had a great time!
Cell Block 4Lara's Labyrinth - WethersfieldEscape roomIRLWe loved this room! It was super memorable. The way you start in the room is unique, and the atmosphere is solid. I went with a few people that have had less experience with escape rooms and we all had a blast. I’d highly recommend it!
The Wizard RealmPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLPretty cool room overall, the atmosphere was nice as well as the concept. Definitely a “must do” for fans of the Harry Potter franchise. We got stuck on a puzzle because of a technical issue which held us up for a while. Looking beyond that, the room flowed well!
Warehouse 13Puzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLWe had a lot of fun playing this room! I get spooked easily, so that fact that this room had its fair share of jump scares made things interesting. The atmosphere was great, and while I wouldn’t say that the flow was perfect, it also wasn’t too much of a bother. The room was memorable, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a horror experience.
The MallComplexity: A Puzzling AdventureEscape roomIRLSuper cute room! I could see this room being great for kids. The set design and puzzles were unique, which made for a new and exciting experience. The flow of the room was solid. We all had a lot of fun!
DerailedElite Escape GamesEscape roomIRLDefinitely the most immersive escape room I’ve ever done. It’s super unique, and while it is relatively easy, all of the puzzles are super well done. The staff were welcoming, and this has been one of our most memorable escape room experiences.
